In recent years, the innovative technology team for efficient production of aquatic vegetables in Jiangsu Province has extensively carried out cooperation and exchange, integration, demonstration of "melon and fruit vegetables-water chestnut", "water spinach in greenhouse in early spring-late autumn melon and fruit vegetables", facility "mushroom-water-drought" ecological cultivation and other new ecological planting models, which not only effectively control the continuous cropping obstacles of facility vegetables, but also through off-season cultivation. The production efficiency of protected vegetables has been greatly improved, and the benefit of aquatic vegetable stubble in some areas has reached more than 20,000 yuan per mu in 3 months.

At present, lotus root, mushroom and water chestnut in greenhouse have been planted on a large scale in Jinhu, Baoying, Jiangyan, Rugao, Yandu, Xinghua, Jingjiang, Funing and other places. New eco-efficient models such as "strawberry-water chestnut" in Lishui District of Nanjing, "xerophytic vegetables-watermelon in spring greenhouse-direct seeding in Dongtai city of Yancheng", "seedling grass-water mushroom in spring greenhouse-rice" in Jiangyan District of Taizhou City have been popularized and applied on a large scale, and the annual cultivation area is more than 50,000 mu in the water-rich areas south of the Huaihe River Basin.
