Last Updated: 2024/11/06, We can multiply it by dividing balls, ramets or sowing seeds. The bulb needs us to cut off the small spherical plant around its tuber when it enters the dormant period and plant it separately; to sow the seed, we need to collect it after the seed is ripe and then plant it in the pot; the ramet flower needs us to cut off the small stem around it around September and plant it separately.

I. methods of reproduction

1. Score the ball

This is its main mode of reproduction, and when it goes into dormancy, we need to cut off the small spherical plants around its tubers and plant them separately.

2. Sowing seeds

This method requires us to collect its seeds after they are ripe, and then sow them. They are usually planted in pots in the house, so that the temperature for them to germinate should be 18 to 24 degrees, and they can germinate after 15 to 20 days. Usually flowers can grow in three months after planting.

3. Ramet

After the flowers grow in May and June, its leaves will slowly wither and then grow new leaves. When we replace it with a new pot in mid-September, we can take down the small stem near its mother plant and pot it.

II. Points for attention

1. If it is planted outdoors, it is usually planted after autumn. The distance between the two plants should be 25 cm, and the rich sticky soil should be used, usually with garden soil plus coal ash and animal droppings.

2. Cover it with soil three or four centimeters thick after planting, and seedlings can grow after 20 days. During its growth, it likes plenty of water, we need to often sprinkle some water on its leaves and the surrounding ground, and keep its leaves clean.

3. It likes warm and humid areas, and usually needs to give it shade. Give it plenty of sunshine when it grows flowers, otherwise its bracts will be green, which is not good for viewing. Give it three or five hours of light every day, otherwise the petiole will grow very long and not very good-looking.

4. It is not very resistant to the severe cold. We should move it to a warm room in the middle of October. In summer, we should not only give it shade, but also spray water to cool it and keep it moist.

5. It needs a lot of fertilizer and water, and it should be watered more during its growth. You can give it fermented fertilizer and give it every two weeks. Don't spread the fertilizer in the leaf sheath when you fertilize it, or it will rot. Wait until its buds appear, to increase its fertilizer, can make its flowering period become longer, flowers bigger, more beautiful.
