The planting area of navel orange in Ganzhou City is the first in the world and the annual output is the third in the world. There are 250000 farmers planting navel oranges and nearly one million rural workers are employed. In 2014, Gannan navel orange production is expected to be about 1.2 million tons, accounting for 15% of the global navel orange production; in addition to the domestic market, it will also be exported to more than 20 countries and regions, including Southeast Asia, Russia and North America.
