Half a watermelon peel, cabbage gang, lettuce leaves... five or six kinds of fruit and vegetable garbage occupied a garbage bag in the hands of Guo Caifeng, a post-50s citizen. Yesterday afternoon at 5 o 'clock, Ms. Guo, who lives at the mouth of the vegetable market, saw the garbage truck coming to her door on time as usual, and threw the two bags of domestic garbage in her hand into the carriage with great effort, half of which came from the kitchen.

Supermarket to buy clean vegetables must not have morning market to buy vegetables value? Reporter investigation found that if the production of garbage, secondary treatment and other factors are taken into account, clean vegetables may not be "lost" to buy home to choose again morning market dishes.

Post-50s morning market

The actual unit price of finished dishes increased by more than 10%

Ms. Guo, who has lived in Beijing for most of her life, typically "knows how to live". She never goes to the morning market to buy vegetables early. Instead, she leaves her house after 11:30 pm when the merchants close their stalls. She had her own little calculation: "At that time, the vendors were anxious to close their stalls and go home. The price of vegetables could be much cheaper than waking up in the morning. It was worth throwing more when they caught up with the less fresh places."

The morning market where Ms. Guo buys vegetables is located in Tianhe Market in Guang 'anmen, Xicheng District. In September, she recorded the following vegetable buying diary: Within a week, I mainly bought tomatoes, cucumbers, celery and eggplant. The unit price per 500g was 1.7 yuan, 1.3 yuan, 1.5 yuan and 1 yuan respectively. On the same day, I bought tomatoes 3 jin 5 liang (1750g), cucumbers 3 jin (1500g), celery 2 jin 3 liang (1150g) and eggplant 1 jin 8 liang (900g). The cost of buying vegetables was 5.95 yuan, 3.9 yuan, 3.45 yuan and 1.8 yuan respectively.

After comprehensive calculation, the waste rates of tomatoes, cucumbers, celery and eggplant purchased by Ms. Guo are 12.8%, 5.3%, 15.7% and 17.8% respectively. According to this calculation, the price of edible parts of these vegetables rises to: 1.95 yuan, 1.37 yuan, 1.78 yuan and 1.22 yuan, that is to say, in addition to cucumber, other vegetables in the selection of vegetables after the "edible part of the unit price" than the price rose by more than 10%, the highest increase is eggplant, 22%.

After 80 "clean vegetables" school

Save the time to choose vegetables, the price is still acceptable

Shi Cheng, born after 80, lives in West Street of Guang 'anmen Station in Xicheng District, because he and his wife work early and return late. They don't have time to buy vegetables in the community vegetable market during the day. If they want to go home to cook, they buy "clean vegetables" in a large supermarket in Maliandao.

"The vegetables in the supermarket are more expensive than those in the morning market." This is almost the first impression of the public who often buy vegetables. What is the actual situation? Shi Cheng handed over his diary of buying vegetables in the supermarket. The vegetables he bought also included tomatoes, cucumbers, celery and eggplant. The prices per 500 grams were 1.98 yuan, 6.25 yuan, 0.79 yuan and 1.1 yuan respectively. The net content of these vegetables purchased by Shi Cheng was 490 grams, 400 grams, 684 grams and 852 grams. "I used to think it was cheaper to buy vegetables in the morning market, but I discovered that the vegetables I bought from the supermarket were almost unnecessary waste when choosing vegetables after I got married. It might not be cheap." he said.

However, most consumers are not very receptive to clean vegetables. "The supermarket near us sells organic vegetables. One night, I brought home an eggplant from work, which is the amount of a dish. It actually cost 8 yuan. This kind of expensive dish is fine to eat occasionally, but it definitely hurts to buy it every day." Xiao Shao, who lives near Peony Garden, said.

Clean vegetables into the city

Waste disposal costs about 160 million yuan a year

According to the statistics of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Beijing began to levy domestic garbage collection fees and disposal fees since September 1999. The household garbage collection standard (including domestic garbage collection fees and disposal fees) is 66 yuan per household per year, but the garbage collection fees can only cover 20% of the disposal costs, and the rest are still subsidized by the financial department. The average amount of garbage generated by residents is about 0.85 kg per day, 310 kg per year, and the disposal cost is about 124 yuan. If calculated according to 2.5 people per household, the annual disposal cost of garbage generated by each household is 310 yuan. At present, the charge for each household is 66 yuan, and the rest is all subsidized by the finance department.

Data show that in Europe, America, Japan and other developed countries, the clean vegetable industry has a history of decades of development. In Japan's garbage reduction policy, not only is hairy vegetables prohibited from entering the city, but the scope of prohibition also expands with the expansion of the city. For example, Tokyo City stipulates that hairy vegetables are prohibited from entering within the Eighth Ring Road, thus reducing urban domestic garbage by 20%.

What is this 20% concept? At present, Beijing's daily garbage volume exceeds 18,000 tons. If it is loaded by trucks, it can fill a full circle around Beijing's Third Ring Road. According to Beijing's current treatment cost of 124 yuan per ton, about 160 million yuan can be invested less each year. This does not include the construction cost of waste treatment facilities. It costs hundreds of millions of yuan to build a large-scale landfill site and billions of yuan to build a large-scale waste incineration plant.
