Geranium, because of the long flowering period, rich colors, easy to raise and easy to blossom, many flower friends like it. Moreover, geraniums can be reproduced in two ways, and in a few months, the balcony at home will not fit.

1. Sowing seeds

Soak the seeds in clean water for 8-12 hours, choose a fine, loose and clean substrate, it is best to choose a special sowing peat soil plus a small amount of perlite, put into the seedling basin. Soak the seedling basin into the water, let the water gradually seep into the substrate from the bottom hole, when the surface of the substrate is wet, take the seedling basin out of the water and place it for 2-3 hours, let the water in the matrix leak until it stops seeping, sow the soaked seeds on the substrate, and cover a small amount of soil to see no seeds.

Cover the heat preservation and moisturizing with glass or plastic film after sowing, the temperature should be 18-25 ℃, not too high or too low, if you find that too much moisture on the glass can be properly ventilated, but the time is not too long, generally more than ten minutes. The seedlings can emerge in about 1-2 weeks. Seedlings can be transplanted when they grow 2-5 leaflets, be careful not to plant too deeply.

2. Cuttage

The geranium bank can also be inserted with leaves or buds, and budding is the most commonly used method for breeding geraniums. The cutting is generally from May to July, the temperature is 15-25 ℃, and the cutting medium is perlite or clean river sand.

Select strong and disease-free leaves, if the leaf length can be cut off, generally retain 3-5 cm, insert the petiole obliquely into the matrix, and then gently press the matrix with your hand to ensure that the leaves stand firmly in the matrix, and the cutting density should be high, and it is appropriate for the leaves not to touch each other.

The petiole takes root in about 10-20 days, and one or more buds grow out of the matrix in about 50 days. After more than ten days, when the buds unfold 3-5 leaflets, the small plants can be cut off and planted in the basin. The original cuttings do not need to be pulled out, and new buds can grow in about 30 days.
