To get multiple pots of hydrangea quickly, you only need to master this method.
Is it envious to see others cultivate hydrangeas into bouquets one by one? In fact, breeding hydrangea is very simple, hydrangea itself likes to be raised in the shade of trees, it does not need much light, breeding hydrangea is very simple, as long as cut off some branches.
The first step is to prune the branches
If you want to carry out the cutting propagation of hydrangea, it is best to do it in spring, and it is best to stay in the evening, to avoid pruning when the temperature is too high or the sun is too strong, otherwise it is easy to cause damage to the branches and leaves of Hydrangea.
Select some branches that have not yet formed new buds and cut off a healthy branch that is about 9cm long and 12cm long so that you can cut a few more segments.
Be sure to use sharp, alcohol-wiped scissors to avoid fungal diseases and mold infection.
The second step is to remove the excess leaves.
After trimming the cut branches to the right length, cut off some leaves properly, completely remove the leaves at the bottom, and leave about 3 or 4 leaves at the top.
Be sure to remove the leaves at the bottom, otherwise it will affect rooting and sprouting, and it is also easy to cause fungal diseases. Be careful not to hurt the branches when pruning the leaves, but to trim them from the lower end of the petiole.
Step three, pay attention to the leaf buds.
When pruning the leaves at the bottom, as shown in the picture above, we will see that there are some small blocks of structure at the petiole cut off. these are the leaf buds, which will grow branches there in the later stage. Do not damage these leaf buds when pruning. If you are not careful to hurt them, you should throw away this branch. Do not try to propagate with this branch cuttage, it is very easy to be infected with root rot.
The fourth step is to prune the top leaves.
I usually keep about three leaves at the top, because the leaves of Hydrangea are very large, if the whole leaves are kept, it will affect rooting and sprouting and consume too much water, so it is necessary to cut off the 2cm 3 of the top leaves, which can appropriately reduce the water consumption of branches.
Only in this way can we promote Hydrangea branches to grow roots and new leaves more quickly, which usually takes about a month to grow new leaves.
Some friends cutting hydrangea, reluctant to cut off some of the top leaves, to be able to promote its rebirth.
Step five, what the final trim looks like.
As shown in the picture above, if you trim the cut hydrangea branches and leaves into the shape of the picture above, you can see that I have cut off most of the leaves, even if the top two tender leaves have also been cut off 2cm 3, which can make the hydrangea take root better, and there are too many leaves in vain to consume water.
Most plants with large leaves have to trim their leaves in this way when cutting branches, but plants with air roots, such as green pineapple, do not have to cut off the leaves when they are cutting, but the leaves at the bottom should also be cut off.
Step six, promote rooting.
To ensure that fragile hydrangea branches can take root and sprout quickly, you can put some rooting powder at the bottom of the branch, which can promote rooting and avoid fungal diseases. Soak the rooting solution directly in it for five minutes before picking it up.
If you do not have rooting powder, you can soak the branches of willows in water for a day or two. The solution can be used to soak the branches of hydrangea and soak for half an hour for cutting and propagation.
The seventh step is soil cutting propagation.
Finally, the branches of hydrangea are cut in the loose and drained soil, so that the branches can be planted stably in the soil.
However, you should be careful not to choose too large a container, you can choose a flowerpot with a size of 8cm and 12cm, and the bottom of the pot should have a better drainage hole, which can avoid excessive soil moisture and cause rotten roots.
To use loose and drained sandy soil, use new soil, preferably peat soil with perlite or sand.
Step 8, post-maintenance
After the branches of hydrangea are successfully cut, it is necessary to keep the soil slightly moist, but not too moist, let alone stagnant water, the location should be properly scattered light ventilated place to avoid exposure, good direct sunlight, can be placed in the morning or evening, there is a little scattered light.
After ten days, the branches of Hydrangea can take root and sprout and grow into charming potted plants in two or three months.
