The difference between sweet-scented osmanthus and Jiuli incense

1. Height

First of all, we should make it clear that sweet-scented osmanthus is an evergreen tree or shrub, while Jiuli incense is a small tree. Therefore, compared with the two, the height of the first is much higher than that of the second. Specifically, the height of sweet-scented osmanthus can even reach 18 meters. However, the height of Jiuli incense is generally about eight meters.

2. Appearance

(1) leaves: let's start with the shape of the leaves. The leaves of sweet-scented osmanthus are leathery, mostly oval, and some are long oval or lanceolate. However, the leaves of the second type of plants are different, and most of them are Obovate. And their lengths are not the same. The leaves of the first plant are about seven to 14.5 centimeters long and 2.6 to 4.5 centimeters wide. However, the leaves of the second plant are much smaller, about one to six centimeters long and about 0.5 to three centimeters wide.

(2) petiole: it is mainly different in length. The petiole of the former is 0.8 to 1.2 cm long, which is longer than the second.

(3) Fruit: first of all, the shape is different. The first kind of fruit is oval, the second kind is broad oval, sometimes the spherical size is not the same, the former is larger than the latter.

3. Different flowering and fruiting stages

For the first plant, its florescence is from September to early October and its fruiting period is in March of the following year. The second plant florescence from April to August and fruit from September to December.
