On December 12, the 4th China (Chengdu) Organic Agriculture Forum was held in Pujiang County, Sichuan Province. With the theme of "healthy soil Standard Certification", the Forum conducted keynote speeches and exchanges on issues such as healthy soil cultivation, organic agriculture certification and trade, consumer trust and international organic agriculture development trends. Experts attending the meeting held that it is necessary to start with strengthening the quality construction of cultivated land, cultivating healthy soil, making rational use of resources, realizing the sustainable development of agro-ecosystem, and promoting the construction of organic agriculture in a scientific and orderly manner.

Experts point out that soil health is the ability of soil ecosystem to maintain biological productivity, improve environmental quality and promote animal and plant health. Whether organic agricultural products, green food or pollution-free agricultural products, there are high requirements for soil quality and environment of crop growth. At present, the soil of cultivated land and garden land in China is facing the threat of pollution to varying degrees, as well as the challenge of continuous decline of soil fertility, especially the cultivated soil has been in a state of "sub-health" for a long time, prominently manifested in "two big and two low". The "two big" are the large area of cultivated land quality degradation and the large area of polluted cultivated land. "two low" means low content of soil organic matter and low basic soil fertility.

Experts attending the meeting believe that in the process of transformation from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture, China's agriculture cannot bypass the hurdles of resources, environment, and ecology. If we do not actively resolve the eco-environmental constraints from now on, we will face more serious agricultural resources and eco-environmental problems in the future. In this context, organic agriculture is facing a rare opportunity for development. Organic agriculture advocates giving full play to the natural regulation mechanism within the agro-ecosystem and adopting reasonable farming measures to protect the ecological environment so as to realize the harmonious development of rural social economy and ecological environment. Speeding up the development of organic agriculture will help to promote the transformation of agricultural development mode and the sustainable development of agriculture.

It is understood that Chengdu regards the development of green and organic agriculture as an important part of the construction of urban modern agricultural industrial system, and has successfully held three organic agriculture forums in succession. Pujiang County, as a key county in the development of organic agriculture in Chengdu, has established the development idea of organic agriculture base in line with international standards. Remarkable achievements have been made in the construction of organic environment, the establishment of organic input system, the formulation of organic norms and standards, and the dissemination of organic ideas, which provides fresh samples for the development of organic agriculture.

This forum is jointly sponsored by China National Certification and Accreditation Supervision and Administration Commission, China Green Food Development Center, Ministry of Agriculture quality Agricultural products Development and Service Center, Farmers' Daily, China Agricultural products Market Association, China quality Agricultural products Development and Service Association, Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Chengdu people's Government. From the relevant responsible persons of the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Accreditation and Supervision Commission and other departments, experts and scholars at home and abroad, such as the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement, the International Organic Agriculture Research Association, China Agricultural University, more than 200 people attended the forum, including representatives of agricultural departments and organic agricultural production bodies in some provinces and cities.
