In the development of large-scale, high-efficiency, multi-function and intelligent control of combine harvester in our country, there are some deficiencies in intelligent technology, such as feed quantity improvement, adaptability of many kinds of crops, automatic control of operation quality, and so on. The national 863 project "Intelligent Agricultural Machinery Technology and equipment" led by Agricultural equipment Industry Technology Alliance has carried out the research on intelligent technology of large-scale combine harvester.

Researchers aim at crops with typical characteristics of wheat, rice, rape and soybean, aiming at improving harvesting efficiency, multi-functional utilization and reducing unstripped net loss by automation technology. important progress has been made in filling the blank parameters of crop harvesting machinery characteristics, operation flow and quality intelligent monitoring, and the application of intelligent technology of large-scale combine harvester.

It is understood that the project breaks through the key common technologies such as micro-geomorphology automatic profiling wide-width cutting table, low damage gradient threshing separation, high-throughput material efficient screening and low-loss grain clean air cleaning, etc. Intelligent fuzzy control methods and systems for multi-factor working parameters of combine harvesters such as different varieties, different time domain and different climatic conditions are developed, which provides a decision-making basis for intelligent control. The intelligent control method and device of fuel energy saving and consumption reduction based on load feedback of constant working speed of combine harvester are developed, and the fuel utilization rate is improved. the intelligent control system of multi-objective parameters such as forward speed, threshing drum speed, separation concave clearance and fan speed of combine harvester and high suitability operation quality control system are developed. Bus technologies such as automatic navigation, fault diagnosis, flow detection and parameter control are integrated and applied to 10kg/s large-scale grain combine harvester, making it the most intelligent combine harvester independently developed in China, which can realize the functions of autopilot, automatic fault detection and early warning, loss monitoring, performance regulation and on-line yield measurement, which is in line with the mainstream technology in the world and breaks the monopoly of foreign technology.

At present, the number of combine harvesters in China is more than 1.5 million, and the annual production and sales are about 300000. There is an urgent need for intelligent technology upgrading. The technical radiation of this project provides technical support for the upgrading of combine harvesters in our country.
