Over the past 30 years of reform and opening up, the production and marketing of animal products in China has increased rapidly. in the process of rapid growth of consumption, there is a bubble in the total consumption of animal products. This bubble is mainly wasteful consumption and excessive consumption. Since the introduction of the eight regulations of the Central Committee, the waste consumption and excessive consumption which do not conform to the regulations have been effectively controlled, the consumption of animal products has gradually returned to normal, production began to revolve around normal consumption, and the consumption of animal products has entered a new normal.

Li Xirong pointed out that the key tasks of the China Animal Husbandry Association in 2015 are as follows: first, to reflect the demands of the industry and safeguard the interests of the industry. Animal husbandry emergencies have a great impact on the whole industry. in recent years, the whole industry has actively explored how to make emergency plans well, strengthen communication with relevant departments, make public the facts of unexpected incidents as soon as possible, and guide the media to report them objectively and fairly. The second is to actively strengthen the construction of animal husbandry information system. Li Xirong believes that it is very important to improve the animal husbandry information system. At present, the new situation that reflects the demands of enterprises and the development of the industry depends on specific survey data. the timeliness and accuracy of the data provide an effective basis for reflecting problems and striving for policy support in the industry. The third is to promote exchanges and cooperation within the industry. The fourth is to actively develop members and strengthen the team. Fifth, strengthen international exchanges and enhance international influence. The sixth is to strengthen the self-construction of the association and improve its work efficiency.

Li Xirong said that at present, there are still many problems in the industry that need to be studied: first, how to transform and upgrade animal husbandry under the new normal; second, the standardized construction of farms (households); and third, the cold chain transportation of livestock products needs to be discussed by the whole industry.
