Since 2000, Fuzhou National Rice improvement Sub-Center of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences has continuously obtained an average yield of 838kg / mu in the first season and 488.4 kg / mu in the ratooning season, 723.9 kg / mu in the first season, 414.1 kg / mu in the ratooning season, 605.9 kg / mu in the first season of 100000 mu of ratooning rice and 297.8 kg / mu in the ratooning season. There are 200 million mu of single cropping rice fields in southern China, of which 50 million mu of single cropping rice fields (one crop temperature and light resources are more than one crop and two crops are insufficient) are suitable for planting ratooning rice. If it can reach the yield level of Youxi County in Fujian Province, it can increase 20 million tons of rice per year. The development of ratooning rice is a big technical reserve to ensure China's food security in the future.
