Hydrangea, which not only has high medicinal value, but also has high edible value, is also known as "the king of mushrooms". A small amount of hydrangea is distributed in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Xizang, Yunnan, Fujian and other places in China. Abroad, Japan, South Korea, the United States, Canada and Australia are also distributed, but their wild resources are very rare. It is expensive, worth about 2000 yuan per kilogram of dry products in the international market. It contains 3 times more polysaccharides than Ganoderma lucidum and has excellent anti-cancer effect.

In the 1980s, Chinese researchers began to study the artificial cultivation of Spiraea, which was carried out by the Institute of Edible Fungi of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1994, and the first batch of Spiraea was cultivated in 2005. it was the first to break through the key technical bottleneck of artificial cultivation of Spiraea in China and achieved success. Recently, Lin Yanquan, a researcher at the Institute of Edible Fungi of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, pioneered the artificial propagation technology of Spiraea in China, which is expected to be demonstrated and promoted on a large scale in production. Pan Shaoyu, an edible fungus expert from Heilongjiang Daqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences, has also successfully domesticated Spiraea for two years. Spiraea is domesticated artificially, which means that it can be planted in a large area, but at present, the market prospect and economic benefit of planting are very considerable.
