Green prevention and control of crop diseases and insect pests comprehensively uses environment-friendly technical measures such as agricultural control, physical control, biological control, ecological regulation and scientific use of drugs to prevent and control diseases and insect pests timely and effectively, and reduce the use of chemical agricultural drugs. it can improve the safety of agricultural production, the quality and safety of agricultural products and the safety of ecological environment from the source. Since 2006, the Ministry of Agriculture has put forward the concept of green plant protection, formulated guidance on green prevention and control, established 218 demonstration bases and 150 demonstration zones for the integration of green prevention and control and unified prevention and control, and trained 40,000 to 50,000 producers and operators every year. At the same time, we have increased financial support from the central and local governments, and subsidized the physical and chemical products of green prevention and control technologies such as insecticidal lamps, sex attractants and yellow boards, as well as high-efficiency, low-toxic and low-residue pesticides, thus promoting the popularization and application of green prevention and control technologies for crop diseases and insect pests.

A number of technical models are integrated. The prevention and control mode of Beauveria bassiana sealing stack and releasing bees to control borer was formed in the main corn producing areas of Northeast China, and the prevention and control modes of sexual inducement, light inducement and symbiosis of rice, duck, rice and fish were integrated in the main rice producing areas in the south. In the dominant producing areas of fruit, vegetable and tea, the prevention and control modes were integrated mainly by sexual inducement, light lure and seduction. Up to now, 84 kinds of green prevention and control technology models have been integrated by crops and regions.

The area of popularization and application has been expanded. Through "showing and leading farmers", typical guidance and demonstration drive, green prevention and control has gradually been recognized by the farmers, and the area of popularization and application has been expanded year by year. According to statistics, in 2014, the green prevention and control area of diseases and insect pests of cash crops such as vegetables, fruits, tea and food crops such as rice and corn reached more than 920 million mu, an increase of 490 million mu over 2006.

The quality and safety level of agricultural products has been improved. The promotion of green prevention and control technology has strongly supported the construction of "three products and one standard" production base. According to statistics, in 2014, it led the establishment of 760 standardized production bases with a total area of 126 million mu, docking 2136 leading enterprises, driving 18.038 million peasant households, and directly increasing farmers' income by more than 1.1 billion yuan.

The farmland ecological environment has been improved. By adopting harmless prevention and control measures such as light lure, sexual lure, seduction and ecological control, biological control, and release of heaven and earth, field crops can be reduced by 1-2 times per season, fruits, vegetables and tea can be reduced by 3-4 times, and most of them can reduce the use of chemical pesticides by 20% and 30%. According to the investigation, the number of natural enemies of pests such as spiders in paddy fields in Zhejiang and Jiangxi increased by 1-3 times.

With the popularization and application of green prevention and control measures such as physical control, biological control and ecological control, the role of sustainable management of diseases and insect pests appears gradually. By reducing the population density of major diseases such as locusts and corn borer, there was no large-scale locust disaster along the Huangtan area and North China lakes and reservoirs in the past 10 years, and the damage severity of corn borer in Northeast China also decreased.
