In 2014, the total national grain output reached 607.1 million tons, an increase of 0.9%

According to preliminary calculations released by the National Bureau of Statistics on the 20th, the GDP for the whole of 2014 was 63.6463 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.4 percent over the previous year at comparable prices. Of these, the country's total grain output reached 607.1 million tons last year, an increase of 5.16 million tons or 0.9 percent over the previous year.

Data show that the situation of agricultural production was relatively good last year. For the whole year, the country's total grain output reached 607.1 million tons, an increase of 5.16 million tons or 0.9 percent over the previous year. Of this total, the output of summer grain was 136.6 million tons, up 3.6 percent; the output of early rice was 34.01 million tons, down 0.4 percent; and the output of autumn grain was 436.49 million tons, up 0.1 percent. Grain output was 557.27 million tons, an increase of 0.8 percent over the previous year.

Cotton output for the whole year was 6.16 million tons, down 2.2 percent over the previous year. For the whole year, the output of pig, beef, sheep and poultry was 85.4 million tons, an increase of 2.0 percent over the previous year, of which pork output was 56.71 million tons, an increase of 3.2 percent. The output of poultry eggs for the whole year was 28.94 million tons, an increase of 0.6 percent over the previous year, and the output of milk was 37.25 million tons, an increase of 5.5 percent.
