Ministry of Agriculture sets up National expert Committee on Leisure Agriculture

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture set up a national leisure agriculture expert committee and issued the Circular of the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture on the establishment of the first National Leisure Agriculture expert Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture. The committee is composed of 27 academicians and experts in the fields of agriculture, economy, tourism, planning and design.

Leisure agriculture is a new industrial form and consumption form, and its development is of great significance for China's economy to accelerate the transformation of agricultural development mode, adjust and optimize agricultural structure, and promote the integration and interaction of primary, secondary and tertiary industries under the new normal. It is of great significance to improve the quality and efficiency of agriculture, increase farmers' employment income, rural prosperity and stability, and overall economic and social integration of urban and rural areas. In order to make full use of foreign wisdom and better perform the management function of the leisure agriculture industry, the Ministry of Agriculture set up a "National Leisure Agriculture expert Committee" in January 2015, employing Academician Liu Xu as chairman of the "National Leisure Agriculture expert Committee". Five experts, including Ye Xingqing, Chen Zongmao, Wu Kongming, Yu Kongjian and Zhu Xinkai, are vice-chairmen, and 21 experts, including Li Xinjian, are expert members for a term of five years.

The main responsibility of the "National Leisure Agriculture expert Committee" is to carry out research on the development status, typical models, existing problems and policy suggestions of national leisure agriculture; to provide consultation and demonstration on the development strategy, development planning and policy research reports of national leisure agriculture; to provide expert consultation and technical guidance for resource integration, planning and design, creative planning, operation management, brand building and product development of the industry. Participate in the formulation of industry standards and related policies for leisure agriculture.

The expert committee is an important think tank and intellectual support for the scientific decision-making of leisure agriculture management of the Ministry of Agriculture.
