Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Generally, pruning is divided into growth pruning and dormant pruning, all of which need to remove the places where it is sick or dead, remove some dense areas, and cut branches according to the shape of the tree and personal hobbies. Make it look more beautiful.

First, pruning during the growth period

1. When pruning it while it is growing, you should first remove the damaged branches or diseased branches in time. In the past, missed branches or overly long branches should be slightly shorter.

2. After sprouting in spring, the buds should be removed in time, and the buds on the branches that have been cut before can be left. Buds on branches or trunks can also be removed unless they are used for the gesture of plump trees.

3. The tiller buds that affect the shape and growth of the tree should be cut off in time, and some branches that are too dense should be cut off. When pruning, you can make a proper choice according to its tree type, as well as the number of branches, so as to make it look more beautiful.

4. After growing flowers, cut it short in time to help it grow new branches, make the shape of the tree more beautiful, and increase the number of flowers.

Second, dormant pruning

1. In order to make its appearance more beautiful, moderate pruning is very necessary, but only the right way can make it spend more and look better. First of all, it also needs to help it remove the dead or sick branches, remove the more messy branches inside the tree, and cut off some crazy-growing branches.

2. get rid of the thinner branches, and the thicker branches can be cut short, and the new buds can be left behind, and the length is determined according to the thickness of the branches. generally, three to five buds are left on a branch, and the thicker the branch is, the more buds can be left.

3. Retract a branch that has not been pruned for many years, or that has not been well trimmed. In particular, if the tree is too high and the crown is too partial, it needs to be updated by retraction.

4. If it is clumpy, its branches will be very dense, and some branches will die. You can comb it, remove the dense parts, and leave sparse places. The cut branches should be pulled out from above and do not pull out sharply, otherwise other branches and buds will be damaged. If the shape of the tree is not good-looking, you can wait until the buds at the bottom grow, leaving three or five branches to reshape.
