Indoor potted plants are relatively cheap and can be easily bought, but learning to breed plants will add a lot of fun in growing flowers. Breeding plants can be given to friends to increase their sense of achievement. There are six ways to breed green plants for you to choose. Which method do you usually use to breed?

There are some basic principles for plant reproduction, as long as you master the more basic skills, whether it is cutting propagation, or plant propagation will become easier.

Most of the indoor plants can be propagated by branch cuttings, usually when the basin soil is semi-dry and semi-wet. Prepare some well-drained, loose and breathable sandy soil, which is easier to take root. It is usually mixed with peat soil mixed with perlite at 3:2.

Cut the branches to remove the leaves at the bottom, which is conducive to rooting at the bottom, it is best to prepare some rooting powder, can promote rooting, but also can sterilize, in addition, prepare sharp scissors, preferably sterilized with alcohol or fire.

1. Ramet propagation

Many indoor plants are particularly easy to grow lateral branches or seedlings, and when these lateral branches grow larger, they will grow some roots or air roots. at this time, we just need to cut them off with sharp knives or scissors. Cut off the lateral buds together with the roots, so that you can wait for the cut to dry, or dip in a little rooting powder, and then you can cut them directly into the soil.

Plants that are easy to grow lateral branches are aloe, red star pineapple, tiger skin orchid, Guanyinlian and so on.

2. Stolon transplanting

There are many plants that tend to grow creeping branches, such as common hanging orchids or strawberries, which can be cut directly and cut back into the soil, or press their branches into the soil and press them with a paper clip or a small stone. then wait for the branches to take root and sprout and then cut off, so that the success rate of reproduction is also very high.

3. Branch propagation

Most of the indoor plants are propagated by branch cuttings, cutting off a branch directly, about 9cm long, which can be carried out in spring and summer.

To choose some branches that are relatively robust and free from diseases and insect pests, pay attention to oblique cutting with sharp scissors when pruning, the cut branches should remove the leaves at the bottom and put them in a ventilated and shaded place to dry the wound. Generally, they will be replanted after 30 minutes to 2 hours, and the bottom of the branches can be dipped in a little rooting powder.

4. Leaf cuttage propagation

Leaf cutting and propagation is very wonderful. As long as you pick a leaf of a plant and cut it directly into the soil, you will be able to take root and sprout. Pay attention to choosing strong and thick leaves, and the leaves and petioles should be picked intact. If it is a plant with a longer petiole, half of the petiole can be cut off, such as African violets.

The cut leaves can dry the wound, touch a little rooting powder, and finally cut into the soil. If it is a succulent plant, it can be laid flat on the soil.

After the maintenance in a well-ventilated and brightly lit place, you can water a little to keep the soil slightly moist, but not too moist. If it is a succulent plant, avoid watering.

Plants that can be propagated by leaf insertion include African violets, begonia, Yushu, Chimonanthus, tiger orchids and succulent plants.

5. Sowing and reproduction

There are many plants that reproduce by sowing, you can buy flowers directly on the Internet, or collect some directly. Sowing and reproduction can let you get a lot of plant seedlings, but the disadvantages are also obvious. It will grow slowly, take more time, and may not be able to survive.

Sowing and breeding, you can soak the water properly, spread it evenly into the soil, then pour it thoroughly to keep the soil moist and put it in a well-ventilated and brightly lit place.

6. Striping propagation

Striping propagation is a very easy and successful method to press a section of plant branches into the soil, and the branches pressed into the soil should be peeled around with a sharp knife, that is, a circle of surface skin can be removed directly, and the branches pressed into the soil can take root quickly. however, this branch can continue to obtain nutrients from the mother plant, which is why striping propagation is easy to succeed.
