Drought in Yunnan, Guangxi, Sichuan and Guizhou: production reduction of fruits and vegetables is urgent in many agricultural enterprises
Mango is everyone's favorite fruit, but if you want to eat mango again this year, you may have to pay more. Because of the continuous dry weather, in Guangxi, the main producing area of mango, the local mango production has been reduced by 50%. If the drought is not alleviated, the output will be reduced even more. A reporter from the CCTV Finance and Economics Channel rushed to the arid area of Guangxi to conduct a survey to find out in detail.

Guangxi: mango production is expected to be reduced by 50%
The output of mangoes in Guangxi accounts for about 1/4 of the country's total, and 170000 tons of mangoes were produced last year. However, in Tiandong County, Baise, Guangxi, which is known as the hometown of mangoes, we found that originally a bunch of branches on mango trees should be able to bear seven or eight or even more than a dozen fruits, but due to the influence of dry weather, only one or two fruits have been produced now. Huang Yangguang, a mango grower in Tiandong County, is a major mango grower here, with 150 mu of mango plantations. In the face of dry weather and a sharp decline in fruit production, he is at his wit's end.
In addition, what makes him even more sad is that some drought-resistant mango varieties may have no harvest. If calculated according to last year's purchase price of 1.5 yuan per jin, the mango production on a tree would cost Lao Huang more than 200 yuan. One mu of land will lose 8000 yuan. The entire mango planting area in Tiandong County is 120000 mu, and according to the local official, the output of mango in Tiandong County will be reduced by more than half.

The output of the base of "transporting vegetables from the south to the north" in Guangxi dropped by 20%.
Guangxi is a famous base of "transporting vegetables from the south to the north" in the country. the annual output value of the vegetable industry is more than 20 billion yuan, which is second only to grain and sugar. How will the continuous drought affect the market and the local supply of vegetables? Let's continue to look at the reporter's investigation.
Tianyang County and Tiandong County in Baise City, Guangxi are not only the production bases of fruits and vegetables in the south of China, but also one of the important bases for transporting vegetables from the south to the north. In the winter of 2009, the tomato planting area has exceeded 500000 mu, but due to the drought, tomato production here has generally decreased by about 20%.
The reduction in tomato production directly led to a rise in prices, with prices generally rising in the largest wholesale market of agricultural products in Guangxi (14.40, 0.19, 1.34%) and Wuliting agricultural products wholesale market in Nanning. In addition to tomatoes, the price of rice here has also risen slightly. The price monitoring information of agricultural and sideline products in Guangxi shows that the supply and prices of vegetables in Baise, Nanning, Yulin, Hechi, Chongzuo and Qinzhou have fluctuated to varying degrees since March. In Baise, where the drought is severe, beans and towel gourd, which used to sell for only 3 to 4 yuan per kilogram, have now risen to 6 to 8 yuan; in Langdong vegetable market in Nanning, the prices of vegetables such as lettuce, cucumbers and potatoes have all risen by 50%; in Yulin, the price of Chinese cabbage from Yunnan has risen from about 2 yuan per kilogram to 3.4 yuan per kilogram, an increase of 70%, and cucumber and eggplant have also risen by 50%. However, the overall supply of agricultural and sideline products in Guangxi is relatively sufficient and the price is stable. Prices will not fluctuate significantly in the near future.

Shortage of pumping equipment in mango producing areas of Guangxi
Now the whole country is paying attention to the arid areas, so what materials are most needed in the arid areas at the moment? In the Guangxi Baise Agricultural Science and Technology Park, our reporter found that when protecting the growth of mangoes in arid areas, the most prominent contradiction is the urgent lack of corresponding drought relief facilities. Let's get to know the details.
Walking into the Baise National Agricultural Science and Technology Park, we found that the number of fruits on the heads of mango branches here is obviously more than that in other places. According to the person in charge, a mango tree here can harvest 100 jin, although it is also one and a half less than in previous years, but it is 50 jin more than other parks. This is because they sprayed the mango tree with fruit preservative.
In addition, they dug two small holes on both sides of the roots of each mango tree, ready to apply fertilizer. Although various anti-drought measures taken in the park have reduced losses, the official told us in an interview that there is still a shortage of drought-fighting equipment. The park currently has 100 sets of small pumping equipment, and there is an urgent shortage of 50. In addition, 5000 meters of water pipes have been laid here, but there is still a shortage of 5000 meters.

Longli, Guizhou: the drought aggravates the anxiety of pharmaceutical companies
The aggravation of the drought has also had a great impact on pharmaceutical enterprises in southwest China. Longli County, Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, which is known as the city of Miao medicine in Guizhou, has 14 pharmaceutical enterprises, and its annual output value accounts for 12% of the total output value of Guizhou pharmaceutical industry. Under the influence of this rare drought in history, what is the current situation of pharmaceutical companies there? Let's take a look at the reporter's investigation.
Walking into the factory area of Guizhou Magic Pharmaceutical, everywhere looks empty, and it is difficult to see a few workers. If you see the most, it is probably these "iron generals" hanging on each gate and the seal on it, dated February 10, 2010. In this capsule production workshop, the staff told reporters that since the Spring Festival, due to the influence of water shortage, the workshop began to stop production on the whole line, and production resumed once during the period, but it was still due to water shortage that it had to stop production again until now.
Du Yuanxin, director of the workshop of Guizhou Magic Pharmaceutical Factory, said: "now 70 to 80 percent of our factory has stopped production. (around) many [pharmaceutical] companies have mostly stopped production. "
The director of the workshop told the reporter that the Magic Pharmaceutical Longli plant mainly produces traditional Chinese medicine preparation products, with a total of five production lines. Starting from this year, four production lines have to be suspended because of excessive water consumption. Originally, if they used to produce normally, they would need about 1000 tons of water a day, but now they can only deal with about 100 tons of water themselves. Longli County government departments can help solve some more. It is understood that since September last year, in order to solve the water difficulties of industrial enterprises, especially pharmaceutical enterprises, the Longli County government has separately arranged voluntary water trucks to supply at least 100 tons of water for enterprises four times a day in addition to ensuring the daily use of water for their employees. As a result, many enterprises have not been caught in the predicament of shutting down production. However, even so, in the face of the ongoing drought, the future production of enterprises is still worrying.
Du Yuanxin, workshop director of Guizhou Magic Pharmaceutical Factory, said: "what we are seeing now is another small production line in the syrup workshop. Now, through everyone's efforts, we have resumed production since yesterday, but the output of this line is less than 1/2 of the output of my line."
According to the latest statistics of the Longli county government, due to the influence of water shortage, the six major pharmaceutical enterprises in Longli county have successively entered a state of halting production and semi-halting production. The output value in January and February this year decreased by 44% compared with the same period last year. In order to further ensure the water supply of enterprises, the Longli County government is working on the transfer and purchase of fire engines, which have been able to confirm that six fire engines are about to be in place.

Drought has hit the southwest chemical fertilizer plate in the urea market.
As a matter of fact, the impact of the severe drought is far more than what we have seen. Let's open the financial and economic links we broadcast. The changes that have taken place in some industries under the influence of drought are also worthy of everyone's attention. Today's financial links focus on chemical fertilizer production enterprises in southwest China. Today, urea production enterprises in Guizhou, listed companies, Chitianhua disclosed that due to the impact of severe drought. The sales strategy, product price and product layout will be adjusted in due course. Let's take a look at the details of the link.
Chitianhua is the largest chemical fertilizer producer in Guizhou Province, accounting for about 50% of the total chemical fertilizer and 70% of the total urea in Guizhou Province. Chitianhua announced that the company's product sales in the first quarter of this year compared with the normal situation in previous years is not big. However, the drought has had a certain impact on the company's product sales. The southwest is a province with concentrated urea production in China. There are six urea production enterprises in Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan, including Lutianhua, Jianfeng Chemical, Chuanhua, Yuntianhua, Chitianhua and Sichuan Meifeng, while Liuhua and Hechi Chemical are also in the southwest. Due to the severe drought, agricultural production has been seriously affected, and the demand for urea has been greatly reduced. In order to strengthen sales, urea enterprises of other brands have recently turned to Guizhou market under the condition of poor sales in Guangxi and Yunnan, resulting in intensified competition in Guizhou urea market. In view of the actual situation of Guizhou urea market, Chitianhua said that it will timely adjust the sales strategy, product sales price and product layout to cope with the competition of other brands of urea.
From the overall point of view of the great southwest, the local sales of many chemical fertilizer plants in southwest China have been restrained, so they are bound to find other markets and try their best to occupy the territory of "others." other domestic fertilizer producers may be impacted by their competitors in the southwest, and urea prices may be suppressed. Drought also has a serious impact on the transport of urea. Chishui River is the largest inland river in Guizhou Province, accounting for about 40% of the total inland shipping volume in Guizhou Province. At present, the average water depth in the main channel of the Chishui River is less than 60 cm, resulting in the suspension of all ships carrying urea in Chitianhua. It is understood that water transportation accounts for more than 80% of Chitianhua's chemical fertilizer transportation. If the drought continues, it will cause serious difficulties to Chitianhua's urea export.
