Last Updated: 2024/11/06, To speed up the development of modern agriculture, we must speed up the standardization, scale, specialization and organization of agricultural production. But now most of the young and middle-aged workers in rural areas have gone to work in cities, and there is a shortage of professional and technical personnel, which has become a bottle for the development of modern agriculture.

To accelerate the development of modern agriculture, we must accelerate the standardization, scale, specialization and organization of agricultural production. However, most of the young and middle-aged rural labor force has gone to work in cities, and there is a shortage of professional and technical personnel. This has become a bottleneck in the development of modern agriculture." Member Xu Lei, who recently attended the Third Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee in Liaoning Province, called for attaching great importance to the cultivation of new professional farmers.

Xu Lei, a member from the front line of agricultural production, said that some young people in rural areas went to high schools or universities to study in cities, and after graduation, they found jobs in cities; some young people had some cultural qualities, or had skills, and also went to cities to seek a place... The rest were basically farmers over 50 years old and left-behind women and children. The aging problem of the main personnel of farming was becoming more and more prominent. He said that in recent years, agriculture has developed from scattered households to intensive management of large planting households, from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture, and a large number of advanced agricultural science and technology and agricultural facilities and equipment have been promoted and popularized in rural areas. However, the existing professional and technical personnel and socialized service system in rural areas are far from meeting the needs of modern agricultural development.

Xu Lei suggested that we should give full play to the existing training resources, build a government-supported, market-oriented and diversified training system for professional farmers, formulate encouragement and reward policies, and commend units and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the cultivation of new professional farmers.
