Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Dutch chrysanthemum is very resistant to pruning, so we'd better trim it five times a year, mainly in June and July. The first two times of re-cutting, removing the apical buds to help the lateral buds grow, and then two pruning for its shape, the last pruning selected during the National Day, in order to make its flowering time more concentrated.

Is it resistant to pruning

For this plant, it is very resistant to pruning. This is because it has more branches. In that case, resistance to pruning naturally becomes another feature of it. Therefore, when pruning, just feel free to do it boldly, and you don't have to worry that its growth will be affected.

2. Trim several times a year

It can be trimmed five times a year. However, time is not chosen at random. We'd better trim it at a specific time. Do it four times during the growing period. Another time, it was in its full bloom.

3. Specific time

(1) the first trim should be around June 10.

(2) the second time can be around July 5.

(3) the third time can be at the end of July.

(4) for the fourth time, it can be chosen at the end of August.

(5) the last pruning is during the National Day. This time is relatively important. This is because, although its flowering period is relatively long, the overall ornamental effect is not very good. Only through pruning can the blooming time of its flowers be concentrated and make it more beautiful.

4. Specific methods

(1) when the first two repairs are made, they can be cut again. In other words, the top can be cut off. In this way, axillary buds can sprout more and have more branches.

(2) after the two pruning, we mainly consider its appearance and shape. Trim according to the specific situation, how to look good. After trimming, it is best to make it look more coordinated.

(3) for the last time, mainly control the time. Because, its full flowering period is very short, sometimes only a week or so. Therefore, we must seize the opportunity at this time.
