In early April 1988, I bought a bunch of new plum flowers (a total of 3 seedlings) from the back of the orchid vendor. As the orchid has been stored in the hands of traders for a long time, coupled with the rapid recovery of the climate in early April, the orchid leaves and false bulbs have been seriously damaged, the leaf edges are black, the leaves are wrinkled, the false bulbs are wrinkled, several orchid roots have been broken into inches, brown and yellow through black. However, it is rare to find a strange plum flower in western Zhejiang. Therefore, after consultation with several orchid friends, they decided to entrust this orchid to Zou Jiayi, who had more research on the treatment of orchid disease.

When sorting out the orchid plant, it was found that the three seedling grass belonged to three different varieties, the false bulb was interspersed with bamboo sticks, and the plum petal flower actually had only one seedling, sandwiched in the middle. The bamboo stick pierced through the middle of the false bulb, and the one in the middle was the most seriously injured. In view of this flower, we have taken the following measures:

Cut off the dead leaves and cut off all the rotten roots (all necrotic), leaving only five half-dead leaves and one light Reed head.

Fill the hole in the Reed head pierced by a bamboo stick with the raw powder of Tuobujin, and then soak the whole seedling in the 300-fold solution for 4 hours.

Severe dehydration is the crux of the grass, so scientific replenishment of water is the key to save the seedling. The sterilized orchid plant was taken out of the mop solution, dried and then soaked into the 1000-fold solution of the king of orchid bacteria until the orchid leaves were stretched and straightened for 48 hours.

Disinfect it with formalin, then rinse it with clean water and dry it. After that, the orchid plant was planted in the sand and watered thoroughly, and the orchid was placed in a cool, ventilated and humid plastic greenhouse. The orchid king (1000 times liquid) was sprayed every 10 days, and the foliar fertilizer of a small amount of potassium dihydrogen scalate and urea was added to keep the basin soil moist all the year round.

After 15 days of planting, the leaf surface appeared glossy, and one month later, two small white buds were found. Flushing away the sand with a sprayer to check, it was found that two small white roots had grown.

At this time, some people suggested turning the basin and replacing it with orchid mud, saying that the nutrition could not keep up and the buds could not grow up. However, Zou Jiayi believes that new roots and new buds are crisp and tender, and it is easy to get hurt at this time, while at the beginning of a serious illness, one cannot apply heavy fertilizer, only apply thin fertilizer frequently and eat less and eat more.

The method adopted is to soak 2 small pieces of rotten wood in the mixture of blue fungus king (1000 times), potassium dihydrogen phosphate and urea for a week. Each time the water is watered, the water is drenched from the rotten wood, so the nutrients slowly seep into the basin and are absorbed by the orchid. Practice has proved that this method is feasible. After 10 months of careful cultivation, one of the two new buds shrunk naturally, and the other has grown into a seedling with 4 leaves. What is gratifying is that the crumpled old seedling, like a rejuvenated old man, the leaf color is old and green, showing vitality.
