"China and advanced countries in the world do not have clear data and evidence to prove that eating genetically modified agricultural products can cause disease or cancer," Niu Dun said, adding that genetically modified agricultural products that have been developed, approved for production and put on the market are safe. Niu Dun said: at present, Chinese colleges and universities and leading scientific research institutions are doing research and development of genetically modified foods. after safe tests, domestic qualified food enterprises can apply for the production of relevant GM agricultural products and put them on the market in large quantities.
