Some of the flowers and plants raised at home grow very fast, and many flower friends will want to change the pot of the flower to make it grow faster. But somehow, I changed the flowerpot and kept it and died. In fact, this is not the problem of the flowers themselves, it is caused by our incorrect way of changing pots. Today, let's talk to you about what we need to pay attention to when changing pots for flowers.

Why do potted plants change pots and soil in spring?

Due to the lack of nutrients in the old soil, impermeable hardening, lack of space in old flowerpots, and so on, it will seriously affect the rapid growth of plants in spring, accumulating nutrients and gestating buds!

Turn the basin. Change the soil. Upper basin

Turn the basin: the time should vary according to different kinds of flowers. Perennial flowers such as chrysanthemum, day lilies, evergreen and orchids should be carried out in late autumn and early winter, while evergreen flowers can be carried out in early summer or rainy season, or after flowering. Avoid: flowers are forming buds or changing pots when they bloom.

Specific method: first stop watering to make the pot soil dry and slightly wet, then pour the flowerpot and gently pour out the soil. If the soil is difficult to separate from the basin wall, the corresponding thick sticks can be inserted into the drainage hole, and the plant and basin soil can be gently pushed out to make the plant take the soil out of the basin, and then cut off the old root, rotten root and withered root, and the overdense root should be thinned. Note that the cut should be smooth and inclined downward to facilitate wound healing and sprouting new roots.

However, for large potted perennial flowers and trees or the crown of the plant is too large, you can change the soil without changing the basin, that is, dig out the pot soil around the basin wall, and then fill in the new cultivation soil. However, the root system should be injured as far as possible so as not to affect the growth and flowering.

Change soil: the cultivated soil is loam (usually pastoral soil), organic matter (commonly used rotten leaf soil, mixed carbon soil. Rotten leaf soil can be made by collecting fallen leaves, garbage, weeds and other organic wastes, mixed with fillings (coarse sand, pebbles, charcoal dust, bran ash, etc.).

If you plant succulent succulent flowers, such as gemstone flowers, cactus, aloe, tiger tail orchid, etc., which require loose ventilation and good drainage, you can use 1 part of loam, 6 parts of organic matter, 2 parts of sand or discussion stone, 0.5 parts of charcoal dust, 0.5 parts of plant ash, and then mixed with appropriate amount of bone powder. Flowers planted in acidic soil, such as camellia, gardenia, Milan, etc., can be mixed with 2 parts of loam, 6 parts of organic matter, 2 parts of sand, or 4 parts of peat soil and 1 part of sawdust.

Pot: the upper pot of flowers according to the plant size, select the appropriate tile pot, mud pot or plastic flowerpot. If you use a new earthen pot or mud pot, soak it in water for 1 to 2 days, anneal and remove alkali. If you use an old flowerpot, you should scrape it clean. Fill in the pre-prepared culture soil, the thickness of the fill is equal to about 1 beat 4 of the basin depth, and then slightly tighten. Then plant the plant in the middle of the pot until it is 3cm away from the pot mouth so that it can be watered. After adding the soil, the basin should be shaken a few times to make the soil dense.

Then pour enough and thoroughly until the water seeps out of the drainage hole. Finally, the potted flowers are placed under the wind-free semi-shade or under the shade for maintenance. In the future, depending on the humidity and weather conditions of the basin soil, it should be watered once a day or every other day, and the branches and leaves should also be sprayed with water spray to survive, which can be moved to the sunny ventilation place.

Matters needing attention in changing pots

1. In the process of making the flowerpot, the bottom space of the flowerpot often has a large upward edge. If this edge is not removed, it will affect the drainage in the rainy season. It should be knocked out when the pot is changed, and a plastic window screen can be used to cover the bottom of the pot. This is a good way to protect against insects.

2. When changing the basin, the old root must be cut off with a sharp flower shovel, and the surface of the root must also be loosened with a shovel, otherwise, the root system will bend and curl around the basin wall and will not stretch. It is easy to be affected by drought, waterlogging, cold and heat changes, and the plant will not develop well.

3. When the new soil changes the basin, the basin soil must be compacted to avoid caves in the basin soil after watering, which will affect the root system to absorb water. And must flow out of the watering mouth, not because the basin soil is full and there is no place to stop the water.

4. Watering must be thoroughly watered. This is a very important point when we grow flowers. When changing the basin for the first time, it is best to use the soaking method, put the potted flowers into the basin, wait until the surface of the basin soil is white, and then water it, and master the principle of "no dry, no watering".
