If I had not chosen the profession of teaching, I think I would have studied plants. I hope that in the future, there will be a glittering and translucent glass greenhouse at home, with all kinds of plants planted, flowers, trees, and cultivated land.

Today I would like to introduce the rubber tree. In my very small impression, the rubber tree was planted in a flowerpot. I went to Xiamen and found that it could grow into a tree. I was surprised that it could grow into a big tree when I went to Spain. I only knew in New Zealand that it was a towering tree.

Rubber tree (Ficus elastica Roxb. Ex Hornem.)

Alias: rubber tree, Brazilian rubber.

It is an evergreen tree of the genus Ficus of Moraceae, up to 30 meters high.

The leaves are thick and broad, the color is thick green, and the terminal bud is bright red.

The trunk of the rubber tree is obvious, less branched and has air roots.

Simple leaves alternate, leaf blade long oval, thick leathery, bright green, lateral veins many and parallel, young leaves red, petiole stout.

After growing up, the roots of the rubber tree are so developed that even the asphalt pavement will be topped up by its huge roots, causing the road surface to be rugged and form gullies. If you plant it around your house, the destructive power is quite amazing.

Although the rubber tree is so big, it is not difficult to climb it. New Zealanders love to climb trees. when children are in PE class, they will climb trees in twos and threes and sit on horizontal branches with their calves swinging. The branches are very long and stretch out to the outside of the campus. In fact, the children are sitting in mid-air outside the campus, laughing and laughing at the beauty of the school. In order to take a picture of a visit, some adults nudged up the tree like a monkey, clicked a few photos, slid down the trunk, and said, "Now,it" s your turn. "you must have climbed a lot of trees when you were at school, so you must have acquired this skill."

Under the shade of the tree, about a few friends, or sitting, or lying, blowing the breeze, leisurely, also enjoy themselves.
