The nightmare of agricultural land development starts again! Farmers in Zhudong have struggled with blood and tears for 30 years, and the county government has restarted the third phase of bamboo development plan.

Thirty years ago, for the development of the Hsinchu Science Park, there were hundreds of hectares of agricultural land near Zhudong, which was designated as industrial land. However, due to the lack of water and electricity resources in the area, the Hsinchu Science and Industrial Park Administration decided to abandon the expropriation in 1995. Hsinchu County government is unwilling to give up. Since then, the development of industrial development zones, residential areas and various names have constantly harassed this land. Reduced to fat coveted by all walks of life.

Almost all the land in the plan area is farmland, and farmers have deep feelings and memories of the land, protesting together, fighting and even breaking out bloodshed over the past three decades, but land justice has never been realized. Peng Hsien, an old farmer who took part in a mass protest ten years ago, recalls, "the first time was when my father went to protest 30 years ago, but I didn't take part in it before I was young. In the protest ten years ago, when my father died, I went to participate. Now my son participates. Three generations of my family are fighting."

In 2017, the county government restarted its development plan, which includes residential, commercial, industrial, sporadic industrial, research, industrial, Hakka agricultural and leisure areas and gas stations. Peng Hero stepped on his field with a hoe in his hand and said angrily, "We have feelings for the land. Let's expropriate it to him. Where are we going to get this hoe?"
