Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Although they are all yellow, there are obvious differences in the visibility and shape of their flowers, leaves and stamens. The flowers of chrysanthemums are thinner and longer, while those of the former are thicker and larger. The flowers of chrysanthemums are constantly spreading outward, and the former has petals only on the edge of the disk. And the stamens of the latter are difficult for us to see. The stamens of the former can not only be seen clearly, but also the melon seeds above.

I. Sunflower

1, root

Its roots can enter very deep soil, can be as deep as 100-200 cm, its lateral roots are horizontal growth, there are many fibrous roots, but also long root hair. Its root system is more developed, more widely distributed in the soil, its root growth speed is even faster than the stem, especially when the flower disk forms the fastest, until the seed matures, the root will not grow, it will wither.

2. Stem

Its stem is erect, has bristles on the surface, is rough, in the later stage, the stem will lignify, the interior will be empty, its embryonic stem has different colors, is a very important way to identify its variety. Its different varieties stem height difference is relatively large, even if it is the same variety, due to various environmental reasons, height is not the same.

3. Leaf flower

Its cotyledons are two, true leaves are paired, long in the stem below 1-3 node area, true leaves can grow larger, leaves have bristles. The flower grows at the top of the stem, its color and size are varietal, and its color is very attractive to insects for pollination. Its fruit is melon seeds, edible, seeds are relatively long, generally black and white stripes, pericarp is relatively thick.

II. Chrysanthemum

It likes sunshine, does not like darkness, can tolerate drought, do not like waterlogging. It can endure cold, even in winter, and its roots can survive the winter underground. It can withstand a slight frost, but the seedling growth period requires relatively high temperatures, the best temperature is 20℃, the hottest is not more than 32℃, and the lowest is not less than 10℃. It likes thicker, humus more, permeable soil, in the slightly acidic to neutral soil can grow, the best PH in the range of 6.2-6.7.

III. Distinctions

Although both are yellow, the difference is obvious. Chrysanthemum flowers grow thinner and longer, the former flowers are thicker and larger. Chrysanthemum flowers are constantly spread out, the former only in the edge of the flower disk to have petals. And the latter stamen we are very difficult to see, the former stamen not only can be clearly seen, but also can see the seeds above. The leaves of the latter are smaller and serrated, while the leaves of the former are wider and have small teeth on the edges.
