Last Updated: 2024/11/22, When we look at the rubber tree, we will find that some of them do not grow straight, so what should we do in this way to make it grow better? The first method is to turn the flowerpot, because it itself has phototaxis, that is, growing to the place where there is light, the rotating pot can help it change the direction of its growth and let it grow upright, and the second method is to tie it up and correct it by external force. the specific method is to take a long straight stick and tie it tightly with a rope to the trunk of the plant to make it grow upright.

1. Phototaxis

We sometimes find that the plant grows askew, in fact, it is inseparable from its own characteristics, because they have phototaxis, so when the light on both sides is not as strong, it will grow toward the side that relies on the light.

So at this time, our most direct way is to rotate it so that the side facing the light becomes the dark side. Or we put a small piece of wood on the sunny side so that it will grow inward, and when it has adapted to this growth direction, we can remove it, but remember to turn it around every week in case it grows crooked.

2. Bundling

We can bind it and correct it by external force. The specific method is to take a long straight stick and tie it tightly with a rope to the trunk of the plant, both above and below. Slowly it can return to upright growth, and then the stick can be removed.

Trim it when it grows to a certain height, so that the branches will grow more straight. Generally speaking, our pruning period is in the spring, when some not-so-good branches are cut off so that the interior of the tree can penetrate light, so that there is no problem with the shape of the tree. Change the basin every spring, so there are more nutrients. If it is a plant that has grown for a long time, change it every two or three years, so that it can grow well.
