Pesticide residues have always been the most concerned food safety project, and the use of pesticides is closely related to the health of farmers. Last year's Fluoropril and Fenpany incidents have caused a lot of trouble. what on earth should be done about pesticides so that everyone can feel at ease?
Feng Haidong, director of the Animal and Plant Disease Prevention and Quarantine Bureau of the Council of Agriculture, which took office in January this year, has been engaged in pesticide toxicology research for nearly 40 years since he was a graduate student. The first challenges we have to face are the policy goal of "halving chemical pesticides within a decade" and the strong mistrust of pesticide use in the community as a whole.
At the beginning of spring, Feng Haidong accepted an exclusive interview with "upstream and downstream" and put forward a number of future new policies that will be on the road this year, talking in detail about the establishment of a hierarchical management system, the exit of high-risk pesticides, the transparency of the audit mechanism, and more detailed labelling of pesticides, as well as his views on friendly farming, looking forward to drastic reforms and creating a new atmosphere of pesticide management. The following is the arrangement of the interview.
