At present, most parts of the country have entered the busy season of spring ploughing and spring sowing. Yan Hao, chief expert of the Agricultural Meteorological Center of the National Meteorological Center, pointed out that due to the good warm and humid conditions in the early stage, spring ploughing and spring sowing in most areas got off to a good start; however, before March 28, there was basically no effective precipitation in the winter wheat area of North China, and the local drought in south-central Hebei and northwest Henan will continue.

Sources from the Ministry of Agriculture show that spring ploughing and spring sowing is off to a good start this year. Early rice in South China has entered the period of sowing and raising seedlings, and the progress of raising seedlings is the same as usual; the sowing of spring wheat in Ningxia irrigation area has been completed; and the northeast rice greenhouse is ready to raise seedlings. At present, the growth of seedlings is a better year in recent years. The proportion of first-and second-class seedlings of wheat returning to green is 88.8%, 1.8 percentage points higher than the same period last year, which is the highest proportion in the same period in the past 10 years. In particular, the situation of wheat seedlings in Henan and Shandong provinces, which account for more than 40% of the country's wheat area, is obviously better than that in 2014.

Yan Hao said: in the past, the temperature in most parts of China was on the high side, the sunshine was sufficient, and the soil moisture was relatively suitable, which was conducive to the green growth of winter wheat, the flowering and podding of rape, the sowing and raising of early rice seedlings, spring ploughing and spring sowing and the growth of spring wheat seedlings in the northwest. However, the weather in Jianghuai and Jianghan continued to be cloudy and rainy, and some low-lying farmland suffered from wet damage.

However, Yan Hao specially reminded that from March 24 to 28, the temperature in most parts of China was higher than that in the same period of the normal year, and the meteorological conditions were generally conducive to the growth of winter wheat, soil thawing and spring ploughing and preparation for sowing in the northwest and northeast regions. however, the high temperature is not conducive to the control of winter wheat growth and soil moisture conservation. During this period, there is basically no precipitation in the winter wheat area of North China, and the drought in central and southern Hebei and northwest Henan will continue. Yan Hao suggested that the field classification management of winter wheat in northern winter wheat areas should be strengthened, topdressing and irrigation should be carried out according to population, seedling and soil moisture, and timely irrigation should be carried out in areas with poor soil moisture to ensure the water demand of winter wheat turning green and jointing.

In addition, the spring sowing area in the south of the Yangtze River is still cloudy and rainy. It is estimated that by March 29, the cumulative precipitation in the south of the Yangtze River, South China and the eastern part of southwest China will reach 20 to 40 millimeters. The local heavy precipitation is disadvantageous to early rice sowing, rape flowering and pollination. Yan Hao said: the local area should soak seeds during the precipitation period and sow seeds in time during the precipitation interval; for the areas where early rice has been sown, we should strengthen the management of seedling fields, cultivate strong seedlings, and timely drain moisture and reduce waterlogging after the occurrence of heavy precipitation.
