The so-called white pollution refers to the hard-to-degrade white styrofoam waste. At present, the degradation time of plastic products commonly used in our country needs at least 200 years. In agriculture, the waste agricultural film and plastic bags remain in the field for a long time, which will cause soil pollution and reduce crop production. Yuan Zhimin told China Economic Weekly that because the price of the new plastic film developed by Golden hair Technology is higher than that of traditional plastic film, which seriously affects the enthusiasm of farmers to use it, and the lack of government support, it is difficult to popularize this technology.

Moreover, if traditional plastic film is used, many links such as recycling plastic film and cutting plastic film need to be added, and each additional labor link means an increase in labor input. If these increased labor input is also counted as cost, in fact, the comprehensive cost of using controllable all-biodegradable plastic film technology is even lower; in addition, some crops can achieve the effect of increasing production and income. But users don't seem to pay attention to this.

In this regard, Yuan Zhimin said that the cost of material synthesis is high, enterprises do not have much room for price reduction, although the potential for cost optimization is still great, but most of the related enterprises are caught in a vicious circle. He said that the cost of new technology could have been reduced through industrial economies of scale and technological innovation, but because the investment was high and there was no return, the huge investment required was difficult to achieve by enterprises alone, which greatly limited the development of the industry.

The reporter learned that at present, more than 20 synthetic and modified enterprises in the domestic industry are in a state of serious losses, and one enterprise has closed down. Yuan Zhimin said: "even so, most people have realized the seriousness of white pollution and seen the determination of the government and society to control white pollution, so this road will be successful." I believe that the future will be better, because innovation-driven has become a social consensus. At the same time, we have a strong R & D team on new materials, as long as we continue to do it, there will be results, so we will stick to it. "

National entrepreneurship and innovation needs further support from the government.
