Last Updated: 2024/11/05, If its leaves turn black, it may be too much water, or it may be that the soil is often not loosened, or it may be sick, so different measures should be taken according to different situations: if it is caused by too much watering, change the soil and reduce the frequency of watering; if it is caused by flower soil consolidation, change the flower soil, and if it is caused by illness, spray medicine to sterilize.

First, too much watering

If you always pour a lot of water, its roots are easy to rot, which will affect its absorption of nutrients and water, so that the leaves can not get adequate nutrients and water supply, resulting in blackening phenomenon.

Solution: if there is still stagnant water in the flower soil, you need to take the plant out of the flower soil, cut off the rotten roots, and plant it in the new flower soil. If the situation is lighter, you need to put it on the balcony to dry. After that, we need to pay attention to the frequency and amount of rehydration, not too much.

Second, soil knot

If the soil is not loose for a long time, it will clump, affecting the plant to absorb nutrients from the flower soil, resulting in no leaves at the bottom of the plant trunk and blackening of the leaves at the top.

Solution: you can prepare your own soil with humic substances. Crush the red soil without stones and sand, add some rotten leaves of vegetables, put them in a bag, and add some water to ferment. This kind of soil is much better than ordinary soil, because after fermentation, laterite becomes mature soil, which is not only nutritious, but also soft and breathable, making it more suitable for planting. In addition, it should be replaced with a larger basin and some fresh soil should be added without hurting the original soil ball.

Third, leaf spot disease

If its leaves are black, another possibility is to get sick. if you get leaf spot disease, at the beginning, the spot is brown, a halo of green and yellow will appear around it, and then it will expand into a round shape and become dark brown, and then it will become a black dot, so the leaves will turn black.

Method: if there are fewer spots, you can apply daconine cream on it and cut off the branches with more disease spots. Then use carbendazim once every 7-10 days, if it is more serious, after the first spray, spray again every four days, and then spray once a week, a total of three or four times, the effect will be very good.
