At the Agricultural Innovation Hall of the third Beijing Agricultural Carnival, the fog culture area of eggplant and fruit on display for the first time this year is very attractive and has become a popular sight for many tourists.

In the exhibition area of "painting with vegetables", you can see patches of colored persimmon peppers, full and bright red, green and yellow heads under the green leaves, passing through the shelves of eggplant grown in water and the gourd corridor cultivated in the matrix of pipes. This fog culture area of eggplant fruit is the most proud work of Tan Baolin, the chief technical worker of the exhibition area.

It is understood that eggplant fruits have semi-lignified roots, so they have higher requirements for water fog. A reporter from Beijing Youth Daily saw that there were small sprinklers in the foam board under the persimmon pepper, regularly spraying moisture on the plant roots. Tan Baolin said that using the "fog cultivation method" to produce 1 kilogram of fruits and vegetables requires only 10 kilograms of water, which is 97.5% less than that of the ordinary method. In addition, fruits and vegetables do not touch the soil during the growth process, which also reduces the damage of bacteria.

Can these new technologies be used at home? Yes, of course. In the family experience area of the museum, citizens can customize pipe-type or column-type three-dimensional cultivation racks placed on the balcony to bring agricultural high-tech home.
