What about the rotten root of the valley?

Last Updated: 2024/11/09, Rotten root is a common problem of lily of the valley, how to deal with it? In fact, it is not difficult, first of all, to find the cause, if there is too much water, timely drainage, if too much flower fertilizer, timely neutralization, if the situation is more serious, directly change the basin, cut off the rotten roots, and then disinfect, and then plant into the new flower soil. However, if the situation is so serious that most of the roots are rotten, it can hardly be saved.

First, reasons

1. Too much water

This is the main cause of this problem. Because once too much water is discharged in time, it will accumulate in the soil to form stagnant water. Once stagnant water is produced in the flower soil, it will cause its roots to soak in water, and it is difficult for the roots to absorb oxygen from the water, so it will carry out anaerobic metabolism and produce a large amount of ethanol.

Not only is the productivity inefficient in this way, but also the large amount of ethanol produced will directly damage the root system of the plant and cause it to rot.

2. Too much flower fertilizer

In addition to water, excessive flower fertilizer may also cause this problem. Because the concentration of flower fertilizer is too high, it will change the osmotic pressure of flower soil, which makes it difficult for the root system of the plant to absorb nutrients.

II. Solutions

1. If it is because of the water, we can put it in a place where the water can be steamed off quickly. in addition, we can also raise the flowerpot to make the water drain faster. After treatment, pay attention to control the frequency and amount of rehydration, not too much.

2. If it is the reason of flower fertilizer, we can try to use some substances to neutralize and consume the excess flower fertilizer. After treatment, we should pay attention to control the supplement of flower fertilizer, not too much.

3. If part of the root has rotted away, we can change the basin to deal with it. First, take the plant out of the soil, then clean the surrounding soil, then cut the rotten part short, and then disinfect it. If the damage is relatively high, we should bury it with wet sand, and then plant it, so that it can grow new roots.

At the same time, we still need to deal with its branches and leaves, because too many branches and leaves have no effect on its recovery, so only about 10% leaves can be left. When we let it grow again, we can't fertilize it, we usually have to loosen the soil, and we'd better put it in the house and keep it out of contact with Rain Water, otherwise its roots will be damaged again.

4. If most of the roots of the plant are rotten, it will be difficult to save, so it is recommended to give up directly.
