The area of concentrated cultivation of early rice seedlings in China this year is more than 4 million mu more than that of last year.
According to the agricultural situation dispatch of the Ministry of Agriculture, the area of early rice centralized seedling raising reached more than 26 million mu this year, more than 4 million mu larger than last year.
Among them, Hunan early rice centralized seedling area reached more than 11 million mu, an increase of 1 million mu over last year. Jiangxi concentrated seedling cultivation area of 7 million mu, an increase of 1.5 million mu. Guangdong and Hubei concentrated seedling cultivation areas reached 4.5 million mu and 3 million mu respectively, both increasing by 500,000 mu over the previous year.
Since March 20, the temperature in various places has risen rapidly, sunny and rainy alternately, the light is suitable, and the early rice seeding and seedling raising progress has been accelerated. As of March 30, 68.24 million mu of early rice seedlings (converted fields) had been raised nationwide, completing 78.4%.
Since late February, South China and Jiangnan have entered the early rice seedling planting period from south to north. The Ministry of Agriculture estimates that the intended planting area of early rice this year will be more than 87 million mu, an increase of more than 300,000 mu over the previous year.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, although the sowing date of early rice was delayed due to the continuous overcast rain in the first and middle of March, all localities seized the favorable opportunity of recent temperature recovery and sufficient water source, soaked seeds in time, seized sunny sowing, accelerated seedling raising and planting progress, and the production situation of early rice was generally good.
