The preliminary research of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" began to "produce results"

On April 1, the Ministry of Agriculture held a report meeting on the research results of major projects in the early stage of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" agricultural and rural development plan in Beijing to review and demonstrate the research results, which also marked the entry of major research projects in the early stage of planning into the "achievement" stage.

On the same day, 12 heads of research groups from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology introduced their research ideas, research methods, main viewpoints and policy suggestions respectively. The research results include not only the prediction of macro trends such as agricultural development trends at home and abroad during the 13th Five-Year Plan, grain and grain security situation, but also the key links such as modern seed industry, agricultural mechanization and agricultural product processing industry; the creation of major policies for agricultural modernization development and major infrastructure construction projects, as well as the innovation of basic research such as monitoring and evaluation index for agricultural modernization development.

The 13th Five-Year Plan period is an important period for promoting the transformation and upgrading of modern agriculture and deepening rural reform in an all-round way. It is of great significance to prepare and implement the 13th Five-Year Plan for agricultural and rural economic development. In order to enhance the scientificity of planning and improve the transparency and social participation of planning preparation, in July 2014, the Development Planning Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Finance Department, launched the preliminary major research on the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" agricultural and rural economic development plan, and selected 72 research groups from the whole country to conduct preliminary research on 50 major topics.
