Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Many flowers have heard that vinegar can be used instead of water to water green apple, is it okay to do so? It is advisable not to do so. Because although it has about 5% acetic acid, this ingredient can properly supplement the nutrients needed for plant growth, but it has little effect, and there may be NaCl in some vinegar, which will affect the plant's absorption of nutrients from the flower soil.

1. Can I water it with vinegar

You'd better not use it. Now there are many claims that vinegar can be used instead of water to water this plant, in fact, this is not true. Although vinegar contains acetic acid, which can properly supplement the nutrients needed for plant growth, it has little effect. Because it belongs to organic matter, it is better to use some inorganic nutrients similar to ferrous sulfate directly.

In addition, different kinds of vinegar will not contain exactly the same ingredients, some will also contain NaCl, but this ingredient is not so friendly to the plant, it can change the salinity and alkalinity of the flower soil and the osmotic pressure of the solution, and will affect the speed at which the plant root absorbs nutrients from the soil.

2. Other functions

Although vinegar cannot be used directly instead of water, it has some other functions for the growth of this plant.

① improves soil quality. We all know that this kind of plant prefers slightly sour flower soil, and if we do not have the conditions to get this kind of flower soil, it will be a great headache. Vinegar can be used at this time. Improve the soil quality, reduce the PH value of flower soil, make it more suitable for the growth of this plant.

② wipe the leaves. The leaves of this plant are bright green and beautiful, but they often accumulate dust or lose their luster, so we can also use vinegar at this time. We can use cotton or toilet paper dipped in some vinegar, wipe the surface of the leaves, soon, it will be bright again.

3. Usage

If ① uses paper to improve the soil, it needs to be dissolved in water at a ratio of 1: 50, then poured into the flower soil and mixed well. Note that the initial effect of using this method may not be immediate, but after a period of time, the PH will slowly come down.

If ② uses it to wipe leaves, it should be dissolved in water in a ratio of 1 to 2, then dip some with cotton or toilet paper and gently wipe on the problematic leaf surface.
