National Symposium on Supervision of Livestock and Poultry slaughtering held in Nanning

Recently, a national symposium on livestock and poultry slaughtering supervision was held in Nanning, Guangxi. The meeting stressed that agricultural and animal husbandry departments at all levels should closely revolve around the two main lines of "deepening reform to promote development and supervision according to law to ensure safety." strive to make breakthroughs in the new system of slaughtering supervision, the standard system of slaughtering laws and regulations, and the supporting policy system of the slaughtering industry, and strive to promote the management and development of the slaughtering industry to a new level.

The meeting pointed out that in 2014, the Ministry of Agriculture and the agricultural and animal husbandry departments at all levels made unified arrangements in accordance with the institutional reform and functional transformation of the State Council, grasping the adjustment of the responsibilities of slaughtering supervision on the one hand and the management of the slaughtering industry on the other, and achieved positive results in all aspects of work. Up to now, the adjustment of the responsibilities of the Ministry of Agriculture and provincial slaughtering supervision has been basically completed, the supervision of the slaughtering industry has been steadily advanced, and special pig slaughtering activities have achieved phased results.

The meeting demanded that agricultural and animal husbandry departments at all levels comprehensively implement the spirit of the Central Rural work Conference and the National Agricultural work Conference, improve the supervision system, innovate supervision ideas, and focus on four tasks: first, strengthen supervision and guidance, on the premise of ensuring the quality of the transfer of slaughtering supervision responsibilities, deeply promote the adjustment of slaughtering supervision responsibilities at the city and county levels, and establish a livestock and poultry slaughtering supervision system linking up and down as soon as possible. Second, strengthen supervision and law enforcement, in-depth organization of pig slaughtering special rectification activities, continue to do a good job in pig slaughtering qualification verification and clean-up work, and maintain the development order of the slaughtering industry. Third, strengthen the building of the legal system, continue to coordinate the efforts of relevant departments to solve legislative difficulties, speed up the legislative process of the regulations on the Administration of Livestock and Poultry slaughtering, draft relevant supporting regulations, improve the supervision and law enforcement system of livestock and poultry slaughtering, and gradually establish and improve the standard system of livestock and poultry slaughtering laws and regulations. Fourth, strengthen the research and judgment of the situation, further strengthen the statistical monitoring of livestock and poultry slaughtering, carry out in-depth research on the development of the livestock and poultry slaughtering industry, and promote the healthy and orderly development of the slaughtering industry.
