China continues to increase foreign aid to agriculture

Xinhua Agency, Fuzhou, October 30-Yu Yingfu, deputy director of the Department of Foreign Aid of the Ministry of Commerce, said at the "International Seminar on the Development of Fungus Grass Industry" that in recent years, the Chinese government has continuously increased agricultural foreign aid and made important contributions to promoting the economic and social development of recipient countries.

Yu Yingfu said that as the largest developing country, China has provided economic and technical assistance to more than 160 countries within the framework of South-South cooperation and undertaken more than 2100 complete projects, of which agriculture has always been one of the priorities of China's foreign aid.

It is understood that since the 1950s, the Chinese government has helped 62 countries build 212 agricultural projects such as farms, agricultural demonstration centers, agricultural technology experimental stations and extension stations, dispatched more than 5000 agricultural experts and technicians, and trained more than 20,000 agricultural officials and technicians from recipient countries in China.

Yu Yingfu said that the agricultural assistance of the Chinese government has played an important role in helping recipient countries improve agricultural infrastructure, raise agricultural technology, increase grain output and promote agricultural development, and has been warmly welcomed and positively evaluated by the governments and people of relevant countries.

"International Fungus Grass Industry Development Seminar" is one of the special activities of the 12th Annual Meeting of China Association for Science and Technology. More than 170 people attended the seminar, including officials from the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture, government officials, experts and representatives of the Fungus Grass Industry from 22 countries. They discussed the development space of Fungus Grass technology, international Fungus Grass technology exchange and industrial cooperation.
