On April 8, the Ministry of Agriculture held a special meeting of the National Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Alliance in Beijing to implement the spirit of the leadership instructions of the State Council, study and deploy the work in 2015, and effectively promote the construction of the alliance. The meeting stressed that the National Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Alliance gathers the superior resources and strength of the country's agricultural scientific research and is an important force in China's agricultural scientific and technological innovation. It is necessary to give full play to the role of member units and pay close attention to the major national needs at present and in the future, as well as the work goal of the Ministry of Agriculture of "doing everything possible, two efforts to ensure and two continuous improvement". Focus on the four major directions of basic long-term scientific and technological work, key core technologies of agricultural production, strategic frontiers of agricultural science and technology and sustainable development of regional agriculture. We will focus on condensing the major scientific and technological needs and key R & D tasks of modern agricultural development, jointly establishing and organizing the implementation of key projects of the national science and technology plan, breaking departmental, disciplinary and regional boundaries, and exploring the establishment of an efficient collaborative innovation mechanism with national demand orientation, project task-driven, platform resource sharing, and mechanism innovation.

The meeting called for giving full play to the important think-tank role of the alliance in the country's agricultural development and organizing and carrying out strategic research on the development of agricultural science and technology around the country's major strategic needs. It is necessary to work closely around the central work of the Ministry of Agriculture in 2015, constantly improve the organization and management structure of the alliance, formulate medium-and long-term development plans of the alliance, actively plan and organize the implementation of a number of major scientific and technological tasks, and strive to create a good environment for the development of the alliance. we will make every effort to promote the smooth development of all the work of the alliance and win the war at the beginning of the work of the alliance.

The meeting studied and discussed the construction and operation mechanism of the alliance, held a signing ceremony of the accession agreement, and set up three joint cooperation groups to increase wheat production and increase efficiency, marking the official start of the alliance's work.
