Last Updated: 2024/11/08, As soon as you go back and pick it back and take a few minutes to sell it to the market, you can understand the price and purchase standards, do not delay farm work, and save transportation costs in early spring. Bao Qunyan, a vegetable farmer in Gaogongzhuang Township, Weixian County, Hebei Province, pulled a truckload of newly harvested tomatoes to the Tian Tou market at the entrance of the village.

Go back and pick it up and sell it

Take a few minutes to walk around the market to learn about prices and acquisition standards, do not delay farm work, but also save transportation costs

In early spring, Bao Qunyan, a vegetable farmer in Gaogongzhuang Township, Wei County, Hebei Province, pulled a cart of freshly harvested tomatoes to Tiantou Market at the entrance of the village. This market is located in the center of Gaogongzhuang Township and the surrounding 6 professional vegetable growing towns, built at 352 kilometers of National Highway 106, with convenient transportation.

"Tomatoes in Wei County are listed after the Spring Festival, and Shouguang listed before the Spring Festival and Xushui listed in April two main tomato producing areas hit a wrong season, can have a good price," Bao Qunyan said. Inside the market, eight trading booths are lined up, covering a total area of 10,000 square meters. The electronic display screen opposite the trading booth is showing the real-time market purchase prices of major melon and vegetable varieties all over the country.

Bao Qunyan began planting greenhouse vegetables in 1998. In the past, when there was no field market, tomatoes were picked and pulled by tricycles. In the early morning, they set out to sell vegetables in wholesale markets more than ten kilometers away. "Now, the market has been built to the head of the village. It only takes a few minutes to walk around the market to understand the price and purchase standard. When you go back, you can pick it up and sell it without delaying farm work and saving transportation costs."

Bao Qunyan said that they will transport vegetables in advance, carry out simple sorting, good quality, large size sold to dealers, often can sell a good price.

Zhang Fengshan, a vegetable dealer from Zhengzhou, told reporters that in the past, it took time and effort to go to the field to buy door-to-door. Now the market has been built to the head of the field, so that dealers can understand the production process and product situation of farmers. Knowing the root of product quality, dealers have the confidence to realize value-added, naturally dare to buy at a high price.

Gao Gongzhuang township Tiantou market manager Guo Jinglu introduced, Peak season dealers in the market reached more than 50, Daily trading volume more than 1 million jin, Last year's annual trading volume reached 960 million jin. In the past, the agricultural products of Wei County could only be sold as far as several surrounding counties. Now, dealers from all over the country sell the agricultural products of Wei County to more than 10 provinces and cities in Beijing, Tianjin, Northwest China and south of the Yangtze River.

In Yongqing, Langfang, Hebei Province, there are five Tiantou markets built in vegetable professional villages like this. Vegetables traded through Tiantou Market in Yongqing County account for 80% of the county's vegetable output.

Production and marketing docking, agricultural product quality guaranteed

Dealers gathered in the market bring the information of land sales demand to the field, which can guide farmers to determine production by sales to a certain extent.

In the control room of Tiantou Market Center in Gaogongzhuang Township, the display shows the total trading volume of vegetables and fruits last year, the daily trading volume, and how many agricultural products did not trade that day. Guo Jinglu told reporters that analysts will analyze the reasons for not closing the deal in real time and formulate solutions.

These data also provide a basis for decision-making by relevant departments. In 2014, according to the data, the Agricultural Bureau of Wei County judged that the tomato market in the north would be seriously saturated, and timely guided the two villages to adjust the planting structure, change the tomato planting to cucumber planting, so as to avoid oversupply and low price of goods hurting farmers.

Dealers gathered here also bring the market information of land sales to Tiantou, guiding farmers to determine production by sales to a certain extent, so as to make the connection between production and marketing smoother.

"Sixty percent of vegetables in the county are traded here, and once there are problems with the quality and safety of agricultural products, it will affect the reputation of the entire market." In 2012, we set up an agricultural product quality inspection center to guide vegetable farmers to carry out standardized and scientific planting and improve the quality of agricultural products." Guo Jinglu said.

"In the past, planting vegetables, how much fertilizer to apply and how much medicine to apply all depended on experience. All melons and vegetables entering the market now have to undergo random inspection. Those with excessive pesticide residues are not allowed to enter." Vegetable farmer Li Shusen told reporters.

To the north of the market, there is a cold storage of more than 700 cubic meters. Those that cannot be sold by large growers on the same day can also be stored in the cold storage of the market, solving the problem that fresh agricultural products cannot be sold out on the same day and have to be sold at a low price in the past.

Dealer Li Rui comes here to purchase goods directly to Beijing's major supermarkets,"I purchase goods, and then contact merchants for cleaning treatment, packaging, before entering the supermarket." Li Rui said,"If the market can provide processing, packaging services, you can avoid bulk transportation, multiple packaging losses, reduce costs."

In Yongqing County Wawu Xinzhuang Tiantou Market, a vegetable merchant from Beijing introduced, he has been collecting vegetables in this market for six or seven years, a trip to Beijing to transport vegetables more than 7000 catties a day. Tiantou market brought alive the rural commerce and farmers 'employment near Wawu Xinzhuang. On both sides of the village road leading to the market, there are more than 40 agricultural materials shops, and small restaurants are also doing brisk business.

Policy support still needs to be strengthened

Tiantou market not only has the problems of backward infrastructure and low management level, but also faces the dilemma of decreasing vegetable planting income year by year

Tiantou market not only facilitates farmers to sell vegetables and improves bargaining level, but also gradually guides them to change their mode of production. However, at present, the functions of some farmland markets are still limited, and more support is needed to realize the "transportation, survival, sale and earning" of agricultural products.

In Yongqing, because Tiantou market is a public welfare market led by cooperatives, with limited funds, there are widespread problems such as backward infrastructure and low management level, which restrict the realization of product distribution, radiation drive, information dissemination and commercialization processing functions.

"These few greenhouses are also built by earning some money. Without big boss investment and government financial support, they all rely on their own accumulation." Wawu Xinzhuang village party branch deputy secretary Chen Tingke said.

In 2011, the construction project of vegetable industry demonstration county in Hebei Province supported more than 200,000 yuan for Wawu Xinzhuang market; in 2014, the demonstration project of Tiantou Market of Ministry of Agriculture supported 200,000 yuan for this market. With the support of the government, the construction of this Tiantou market is gradually spreading.

The Tiantou market in Gaogongzhuang Township is "private construction". Guo Jianqiu, the boss, said that although the income in 2014 was good, the market development still faced the worry of "internal and external attack".

Internal factors come from the development bottlenecks encountered by the market itself. Guo Jianqiu's Tiantou Market was built in 2001, all of which were raised by individuals, with a cumulative investment of more than 20 million yuan.

Due to the limitation of area, there are only tomatoes, eggplant and other common vegetables in the market at present. It is difficult to expand the area. Over the years, land rent has risen from less than 100 yuan per mu at the beginning to 1000 yuan now. "The price increase is nothing. The difficulty is that no matter how high the rent is, you can't rent the land." Guo Jianqiu said.

Another bottleneck is funding. Since the land was leased and could not be used as collateral, Guo Jianqiu could not borrow money from the bank. All these years, he earned a little and invested a little. "When the market benefits are good, the profit will be 300,000 yuan. Expanding the market size to 200 mu is quite difficult." Guo Jianqiu said.

The external factor is that the vegetable planting benefit decreases year by year, and the planting area of the whole county shows a decreasing trend. In Wei County, young people choose to go out to work, vegetables are grown by the elderly over 45 years old, energy is limited, management technology is relatively backward. Bao Qunyan's shed covers an area of 1.1 mu, with a net profit of more than 70,000 yuan last year. The benefits are considerable, but Bao Qunyan, 60, said that two more years of planting would be impossible.

The profit mode of this market is that for every 1 jin of agricultural products traded, the market draws 1 cent profit. "If vegetables are reduced, market profits will inevitably decrease." It is for this reason that Guo Jianqiu intends to add several trading booths to enrich trading varieties and enhance anti-risk ability.

It is understood that Wei County Agricultural Bureau plans to clean up idle vegetable greenhouses this year, and attract large households to plant vegetables through investment attraction, ensuring 300 mu of new facilities vegetables and 500 mu of open vegetables in each township along National Highway 106.
