Rural tourism cooperatives lead farmers to a well-off society
A few days ago, Yang Zhibo, a 42-year-old villager from Loushanguan, Banqiao Town, Huichuan District, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, just received 80 tourists from Chongqing. after a while, more than a dozen tourists came in groups, because the hotel was full. he introduced the tourists to other villagers' homes.
Since Banqiao Town launched rural tourism, rural tourism cooperatives have been set up here, which undertake the function of training farmers and promoting local tourism. At the same time, the members of the cooperative cooperate with each other, and as long as the rooms of one family are full, they will be introduced to another, so as to achieve resource sharing.
Yang Zhibo said: "Summer is the peak tourist season. Chongqing has more people coming here for summer vacation. Business is naturally booming, including accommodation and catering. You can earn thousands of dollars a day!" In Loushanguan Village, more than 100 villagers, like Yang Zhibo, have made money by opening a village hotel.
Loushanguancun is located in the north of Huichuan District, Zunyi City, at the foot of Loushanguan, a red tourist scenic spot, 1.5 kilometers away from Banqiao Town in the area. In spite of this, more than 3000 people from more than 1000 households in the village did not become rich as a result. They guard precious resources, but live in poverty.
With the gradual development of tourism in Guizhou Province to the world, more and more tourists come to Loushanguan. Every day, tourists from all over the country will have a farm meal in some farm restaurants in Banqiao Town after visiting Loushanguan. This made the conscientious Loushanguan people find a way to get rich. Today, 300 people are directly employed in tourism here. In 2010, Banqiao Town received 183000 leisure and summer tourists and 600000 tourists, achieving a comprehensive annual income of nearly 35 million yuan. Rural tourism led the 148families of Banqiao Town to become rich and well-off, with a per capita income of 8000 yuan.
Poverty alleviation by tourism has changed the face of poverty in mountain villages and led farmers to a well-off society. "Poverty alleviation through tourism is an innovative way to help the poor through development." Ye Tao, director of the Poverty Alleviation Office of Guizhou Province, said, "Tourism is an industry with a high degree of marketization. For every direct employment of one person, it can lead to indirect employment of five people; for every increase of one yuan of income, it can drive the income of related industries of 7 to 10 yuan." In order to develop tourism in poor areas, farmers can increase their income through labor investment, tourism services and direct employment. " According to relevant data, in 2010, the number of natural villages carrying out rural tourism in Guizhou Province exceeded 3000, with a tourism income of 17.8 billion yuan.
