Soybean grain imports increase and edible oil imports continue to shrink
According to the General Administration of Customs, China imported 2.14 million tons of grain and cereal flour in March, 2.35 million tons in February, and 6.91 million tons in January-March. In the same period last year, China imported 5.04 million tons, an increase of 37.0% over the same period last year.
China imported 4.49 million tons of soybeans in March, 4.26 million tons in February, and a total of 15.63 million tons from January to March. In the same period last year, it totaled 15.34 million tons, up 1.9 percent from the same period last year.
China imported 360000 tons of edible vegetable oil in March, 230000 tons in February, and 1.05 million tons from January to March. In the same period last year, it totaled 1.95 million tons, down 46.1 percent from the same period last year.
