Last Updated: 2024/09/20, Yellow orchid, with a strong fragrance and charming color, is favored by people and is often watched indoors as a bonsai. But when raising, there are a lot of places and skills to pay attention to, what are they? Let's go and have a look.

I. Culture methods

1. Selection of basin soil

If it is a domestic yellow horn orchid, in the choice of basin soil as far as possible to loose and breathable mainly, it is best to contain rich humus. After that, choose the breathable tile basin, purple sand basin or plastic basin with more holes at the bottom, load the soil into it, and the basin soil is ready.

2. Change the basin at the right time

When changing the basin, we should choose the size of the basin correctly according to its crown and age, so that it can grow vigorously. When changing the basin, usually wait until the basin soil is slightly dry, first slowly turn the basin upside down, hold the basin with one hand, grab its plant with the other hand, then take it out, and then put it into the new basin.

3. Suitable breeding location

Every year from March to April, we can move it outside to be exposed to the sun. When the summer temperature is high, set up a shed to shade properly, so that it can not only shine on the morning sun, but also avoid the scorching sun in the afternoon to prevent sunburn.

4. Watering

It is afraid of dampness and is not very dry-resistant, so it should be watered properly. In each watering, it should be watered thoroughly, as long as let the basin soil wet, do not water every day. In addition, after each rain, it is necessary to drain the stagnant water in the basin in time to prevent rotting roots.

5. Suitable temperature

It is very afraid of the cold, so if you do not grow in the south, you should try to move it indoors for maintenance in winter, keeping the temperature above 5 degrees at least, and cooling it in time if it is hot in summer, so that it can grow normally.

6. Suitable lighting

It likes the sun so much that in summer, we can put it in the shade and open the curtain every morning to accept the sun before 9 o'clock, after which we have to close the curtain. If you move it indoors, put it in a sunny place, too.

II. Points for attention

When raising it, we will always encounter some diseases and insect pests, so we should try our best to give it more ventilation, control the amount of water, and properly loosen the soil in order to prevent diseases. If there is a pest accidentally, it should be sprayed in time to contain the pest as soon as possible.
