Last Updated: 2024/11/05, It is said that it is easier to grow flowers than to protect them. Many camellias bought and raised at home have withered and died because of improper nursing, which is a great pity. Here to share how to maintain the camellias entering the flowering stage.

1. Florescence

This kind of flower blossoms relatively late, but it takes a long time to bloom. It usually begins to bloom around October, and basically ends in May next year. The blooming period is from January to March. However, the nature of different camellia varieties is different, and the time of flowering is not accurate, some bloom earlier, some will bloom very late. Generally speaking, the florescence can be as long as seven or eight months, and the florescence is so long that it naturally needs to be cultivated carefully.

2. Maintenance skills

Camellias like semi-shady places and can not be exposed to direct sunlight. Special attention should be paid to careful cultivation in summer. It is best to control the temperature at about 20 degrees Celsius. Its roots are more dependent on acidic soil. It is also necessary to select mountain loam soil with rich organic matter, soft soil and good air permeability.

When camellias produce buds, in order to ensure that they can blossom normally, it is necessary to increase the illuminance appropriately. Proper application of phosphorus-containing fertilizer is conducive to bud expansion, it is appropriate to apply once every seven days, but must not apply nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it will cause a large number of buds. In this process, it is necessary to spray water on the leaves regularly, which can not only remove dust but also increase humidity. In addition, the budding bud is very delicate, so the position of the flowerpot should not be moved frequently.

When it blossoms, it can no longer apply flower fertilizer, nutrients can not be provided by external objects, then it is necessary to let the leaves more photosynthesis in order to meet the needs of flowering. It is best to put it on the balcony or window with good ventilation, which can prolong the lighting time. At the same time, the sick and weak withered branches and lower branches should be cut off in time to prevent unnecessary consumption of nutrients and the spread of germs. Flowering also need to pay special attention to the prevention and control of diseases, especially anthrax, if there are yellow spots on the leaves, should be timely purchase of drug spraying.
