According to the meteorological conditions in winter and spring and the current grassland phenology, the Ministry of Agriculture has predicted and analyzed the situation of grass turning green in China's grassland areas, and predicted that most of the grasslands in northern China will turn green ahead of time this spring.

Last winter and this spring, precipitation was normal or on the high side in most grassland areas in northern China, including southern Xinjiang, central and western Xizang, central and southern Qinghai, central Gansu, central and southeastern Inner Mongolia, and most of the northeast region. The soil moisture of the grassland is fully stored. Since March, more than 10 mm of precipitation has occurred in most of the northern steppe, and the soil moisture has been further improved. At present, except for less precipitation in some parts of central Gansu, the soil moisture in most grassland areas in the north is generally better than last year, which is conducive to the green growth of forage grass. At the same time, in March, the temperature in most grassland areas of northern China was on the high side, including 1 ℃ ~ 2 ℃ higher in southwest Xinjiang, most of Qinghai, central and southern Gansu, southeastern Inner Mongolia and most parts of North China, which was beneficial to soil thawing and snow thawing, and heat conditions were favorable for grass turning green. However, after entering April, the temperature fluctuated greatly and the sand and dust weather increased in some grasslands in northern China, which had a certain negative impact on the rejuvenation of grasslands. According to the forecast of the meteorological department, the temperature may be on the high side for some time to come. According to a comprehensive study, it is predicted that most of the grasslands in northern China will turn green this spring.

The Ministry of Agriculture requires that all localities should, in the light of the current meteorological conditions and the situation of grass turning green, make timely arrangements for the production and management of grassland and animal husbandry, and strengthen the monitoring and early warning of grassland fire prevention and rodent and insect pests. In view of the fact that there are more sand and dust weather in Northwest China than in 2014, all parts of Northwest China should strengthen grassland fences and livestock pens in time to prevent strong winds and dust weather. Northern Xinjiang and other places should pay close attention to the weather forecast, strengthen the supplementary feeding of livestock and the work of preventing cold and keeping warm, strictly prevent the late spring cold, and ensure the smooth development of spring lamb production.
