11 major corn producing areas have purchased a total of 130.46 million tons of new corn.

As of April 30, grain enterprises in 11 major corn producing areas, including Heilongjiang and Jilin, had purchased 130.46 million tons of new corn, up 14.44 million tons from the same period last year, the State Food Administration said Monday.

According to statistics, as of April 30, all kinds of grain enterprises in 14 main producing areas of middle-late indica rice, such as Hubei and Anhui, have purchased 28.21 million tons of newly-produced middle-late indica rice, 1.52 million tons less than the same period last year; all kinds of grain enterprises in 7 main producing areas of japonica rice, such as Heilongjiang and Jiangsu, have purchased 39.84 million tons of newly-produced japonica rice, an increase of 6.82 million tons over the same period last year.
