Vegetable supply increased in April compared with the same period last year and month-on-month. The output of vegetables at the information monitoring sites in 580 key vegetable counties was nearly 950000 tons, a slight increase over the same period last year and a 9.5% increase over the previous month. From a regional point of view, it shows the characteristics of "three increases, two decreases and one balance". The yield of summer and autumn vegetables in northern high latitudes, winter and spring vegetables in the Yangtze River Basin, Huang-Huai-Hai and Bohai Rim facilities vegetables increased by 19.0%, 3.7% and 3.4% respectively compared with the same period last year. Due to the adjustment of planting structure in some areas of Guizhou Province, the area of summer and autumn vegetables in Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau decreased significantly, and the output decreased by 7.5% compared with the same period last year. The planting area of winter and spring vegetables in the hot areas of South China and Southwest China has decreased, and tomatoes and other vegetables have gone on strike ahead of time due to low prices, resulting in a 7.4% decrease in output compared with the same period last year. In the dominant areas of summer and autumn vegetables on the Loess Plateau, the output is basically the same as the same period last year. In terms of categories, the output of seven types of vegetables, such as cucumber, tomato, common cabbage, cauliflower, radish, winter gourd, and zucchini, increased by more than 3% compared with the same period last year; the output of seven types of vegetables, such as Chinese cabbage, cabbage, garlic, pepper, cowpea, carrots and kidney beans, decreased by more than 3% compared with the same period last year, and the output of other kinds of vegetables was basically stable.

Wholesale prices of vegetables continued to fall in April compared with the previous month. In April, the average wholesale price of vegetables at the information monitoring sites in 580 key vegetable counties was 3.63 yuan / kg, up 9.0% from the same period last year and down 4.0% from the previous month. The ten-day price is 3.69 yuan / kg, 3.71 yuan / kg and 3.49 yuan / kg respectively. In terms of varieties, five kinds of vegetables increased by more than 10% month-on-month, 10 kinds of vegetables decreased by more than 10% month-on-month, and the prices of other varieties were basically stable.

Vegetable production is expected to gradually enter the peak season in May, and prices will continue to fall. According to statistics, at the end of April, the area of vegetables in the field at the information monitoring sites of 580 key vegetable counties was more than 1.38 million mu, an increase of 1.6% over the same period last year and 17.8% over the previous month. Among them, the field area of six kinds of vegetables, such as radish, spinach, cauliflower, bean, garlic and tomato, increased by more than 3% at the end of the month compared with the same period last year. According to expert analysis, in May, the temperature will pick up obviously, which is conducive to vegetable production. It is expected that the supply of vegetables will increase, and the wholesale price of the land will still show a downward trend.
