2015 China vegetable Industry Conference held in Gaocheng, Hebei Province

Sun Zhonghua put forward four suggestions on the development of the vegetable industry: first, it is necessary to maintain stable development and balanced supply. On the basis of stabilizing the planting area, the focus should be placed on promoting the application of science and technology and improving the yield and quality per unit area. The second is to unremittingly promote the improvement of quality and safety. The government, the market and enterprises should establish a product quality and safety traceability system to ensure the food safety of vegetables from two aspects: the source of production and product supervision. The third is to speed up the process of vegetable mechanization. It is hoped that scientific research institutions engaged in agricultural machinery research, agricultural machinery production enterprises and vegetable production enterprises will strengthen cooperation, speed up the introduction, research and development and application of vegetable machinery, and greatly improve the level of vegetable mechanization as soon as possible. Fourth, actively promote the docking of vegetable production and marketing. While continuing to do a good job of traditional circulation methods such as wholesale markets of producing areas, urban agricultural product distribution centers and distribution centers, we should actively develop new modern circulation forms such as e-commerce, and encourage the development of various direct marketing models of large vegetable growers, cooperatives and enterprises to supermarkets, communities, groups, and other consumer groups.
