Speed up the construction of major water conservancy projects in China in an all-round way

The construction of Hunan Mangshan Reservoir, a major national water conservancy project, officially began today, which is the first key project to start construction of 27 major water conservancy projects this year, marking the overall acceleration of the construction of major water conservancy projects.

Mangshan Reservoir is located in the upper reaches of the Changle River, a secondary tributary of the Pearl River system in Yizhang County, Hunan Province. it is a flood control and water resources utilization control project determined in the flood control planning of the Pearl River Basin, and it is also the only large-scale reservoir in Hunan Province of the Pearl River Basin. According to a person in charge of the Ministry of Water Resources, important progress has been made in the construction of major water conservancy projects since the beginning of this year:

-- the pace of construction of projects under construction has been accelerated, a number of projects such as the Cen Tianhe Reservoir in Hunan have been accelerated, and new projects such as the diversion of Hanjiwei in Shaanxi, the Datengxia Water Control Project on the Xijiang River and the Jiayan Water Control Project in Guizhou have been fully implemented last year.

The work progress of the proposed new projects will be accelerated this year, and six project feasibility study reports have been approved, and all the feasibility study reports for this year's construction projects are expected to be approved by the end of July.

-- the preliminary demonstration of follow-up reserve projects has been comprehensively accelerated, and the preliminary work of 88 projects to be started during the 13th five-year Plan period has been completed in advance, of which 22 have been approved and 10 have completed the preparation of feasibility study reports.

-- some projects have achieved initial benefits. Projects such as Jiangxi Xiajiang Water Control Project, Henan Hekou Village Reservoir, and Yunnan Niulanjiang Dianchi Lake Water supply Project have been basically completed, with obvious comprehensive benefits of flood control, water supply, power generation, irrigation and ecology.
