The recent high rise in vegetable prices in Beijing Commerce Bureau will continue.
In yesterday's prevention and control work in Beijing, officials from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce explained the recent performance of vegetable prices in the market. Wang Hongcun, a first-class inspector, said that due to many factors, the prices of vegetables, especially leafy vegetables in the city continued to rise after National Day holiday. Monitoring shows that the supply of wholesale vegetables has declined recently. Due to the diversity of circulation channels in this city, the supply of goods at the end of the market is still sufficient and the supply is stable. But since October, vegetable prices have generally shown a fluctuating upward trend. From October 1 to 25, the average wholesale price of vegetables in our city increased by 39.8% month-on-month, and the comprehensive retail price increased by 20.4% month-on-month. Some leafy vegetables and fresh vegetables rose even more, some more than 50% or more.
Ministry of Commerce: the prices of edible agricultural products and means of production rose last week
According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Commerce, last week (October 18-24), the national market price of edible agricultural products rose 4.3% compared with the previous week (the same below), and the market price of the means of production rose 5% over the previous week. Meat prices rose overall, of which the wholesale price of pork was 19.47 yuan per kilogram, up 9.7 percent; coal prices rose, of which the price of thermal coal was 1214 yuan per ton, up 17.7 percent.
The high price of vegetables will continue.
Wang Hongcun, a first-class inspector of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, said that the supply of daily necessities, especially the price of vegetables, will face more challenges in the coming period. First, immediately entering the winter supply period, the city's vegetables begin to shift from northern food supply to southern vegetable supply, and the transportation distance is lengthened, coupled with the increase in the cost of greenhouse in the north due to the rise in coal and other energy prices, which will lead to a rise in production costs. second, the epidemic prevention and control situation is grim, tightening control measures and other uncertain factors will lead to an increase in transportation costs. Third, the Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games will be held soon, the two festivals are coming, the demand will gradually rise, and there will be pre-festival effects. From a national point of view, the high price of vegetables will continue.
